#PeoplesHistory | 🇻🇪At the end of July 2024, the people of Venezuela rose up across the country and defeated the violent right-wing insurrection that followed the presidential elections on July 28, 2024.
Mobs of right-wing opposition supporters took to the streets and destroyed offices of PSUV, statues of national heroes and leaders of the Bolivarian Revolution, and attacked Chavistas. They claimed electoral fraud had been committed in the elections. To this day, no fraud has been proved.
Their actions were met with mass, popular mobilization in support of Venezuelan democracy and rejecting their attacks and allegations.

#PeoplesHistory | Nela Martínez Espinosa (1912–2004) was a revolutionary, writer, and Ecuador’s first woman legislator.
From a very young age, Nela Martínez stood up against oppression. When she was 10 or 11, she joined a protest of the Indigenous farmworkers against her own father. From there, her life was an exceptional demonstration of left-wing militancy and support for the oppressed peoples of the world. She was a communist leader and militant, one of the most important figures in the Solidarity movement with Cuba, and became the first woman in Congress.
On the anniversary of her death, we remember her defiance against machismo and oppression in Ecuador, her vision to liberate women, and her fire in the fight.

Over 600,000 people have signed up in just a few days to support the formation of a new left-wing party in Britain, following the announcement of its launch by MPs Zarah Sultana and Jeremy Corbyn.
In recent weeks, both Corbyn and Sultana have emphasized that the new party will be structured differently from establishment political parties in Britain, starting with the role of its members. Party democracy and participation, they stress, will be central, with members having a direct say in major decisions, including the party’s final name, leadership model, and electoral strategy – setting it apart from the top-down model of mainstream parties.
