During the COVID-19 pandemic, residents of Mexico City’s central Roma and Condesa neighborhoods began to observe a curious phenomenon: hundreds of foreigners, above all US citizens, began to inhabit these upper-middle-class neighborhoods.

Many of them call themselves “digital nomads”, that is, digital platform workers who do remote work and, therefore, decide to migrate to countries where their salary allows them to have a higher standard of living.

The Donald Trump administration has reportedly been pressuring South Korea to join its policy of blocking Chinese growth in the international shipbuilding industry by offering South Korea relief from higher tariffs under the “reciprocal tariff” regime of the US.

Reflecting on that revolution, the young Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels called it “the most colossal revolution that history has ever known,” noting it “gave rise to ideas which led beyond the ideas of the entire old world order” and ultimately “gave rise to the communist idea, the idea of the new world order.”
