University students and faculty members at Birzeit University gathered to protest Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza and to pay homage to the fallen Palestinian resistance leader Yahya Sinwar and other Axis of Resistance leaders killed by the Israeli Occupation Forces.

During his speech at the ongoing BRICS summit on Wednesday, October 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his desire to see the grouping play a greater role in global affairs and in resolving regional and international challenges.

This is the first summit since the accession of five new members, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE earlier this year. It is expected that yet another set of countries may join the grouping this year.

US-based organizations, which include the New York City-based People’s Forum, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, and the Hatuey Project, have launched a donation campaign to get urgently needed humanitarian supplies, including food and generators, onto the island.
These organizers also recently published an open letter in the New York Times, urging US President Biden to reverse devastating Trump-era sanctions on Cuba, including by removing Cuba off of the US’s “State Sponsors of Terrorism” list.
