October 1, 2024 was a historic day for Mexico. On October 7, Israel began another phase of its long-genocidal war against the Palestinian people. The intensification of its colonial violence, ethnic cleansing, and mass displacement was suddenly livestreamed for the entire world to see. In response to this brutality and devastation, the people of the world rallied to stand with Palestine and resist imperialism everywhere. Within the United States, without which the Israeli colonial project would be impossible, millions of people were brought into the struggle against imperialism from within the belly of the beast.

This mass raising of consciousness has brought the majority of people in the United States on the side of an arms embargo against Israel. But this shift did not happen overnight, and has been a result of countless rallies, actions, community meetings, media projects, and other undertakings by grassroots organizers.

🇵🇸 October 7 marks a turning point in history. Israel started a new wave of its genocidal war against the Palestinian people, intensifying colonial violence and its ethnic cleansing and mass displacement policies against Palestinians.

The whole world has been watching the Israeli brutality against Palestine; Israel has killed well over 40,000 people, injured almost 100,000, and forcibly displaced 2 million people, nearly the entire population of Gaza. While Western leaders keep arming Israel and supporting it diplomatically, the people and working class of the world have shown their growing support for the Palestinian struggle for liberation.

Israel’s genocidal war on the Palestinian people in Gaza has seen unprecedented levels of destruction and devastation

October 7, 2024, marks one year since the onset of the aggression against Gaza and subsequently against all Palestinian territory. #PeoplesHistory | On a day like today in 1967 the Cuban-Argentine revolutionary leader, Ernesto “Che” Guevara, was captured by the CIA-backed Bolivian army near La Higuera in Bolivia.

Guevara was tortured and killed the very next day, as the Bolivian right-wing government sought to crush the revolutionary wave which threatened to overturn the status quo on the continent.

October 8th is celebrated in Latin America and the Caribbean as the day of the Heroic Guerrillero, to honor Che Guevara.

#PeoplesHistory | On this day in 1967, the revolutionary leader Ernesto "Che" Guevara was killed by the US-backed and trained Bolivian army after being captured and tortured a day prior.

Che had been in Bolivia organizing with other revolutionaries to build a guerrilla force capable of igniting revolutionary movement and charge throughout the region. Che had been a prime target for US imperialism due to his role in the Cuban revolution, as well as the many internationalist missions that he led in Africa and other parts of the Global South.

They tried to kill the man, but Che's internationalist and revolutionary legacy lives on today.
