The Palestinian government media office in Gaza said on September 16, that the death toll of Palestinian journalists slain by Israel has risen to 173, since October 7, after Palestinian journalist Abdullah Shakshak, who worked with several Arab media outlets, was killed in Rafah in southern Gaza. At 6 pm today, the State of Missouri is set to execute Williams for a crime that he did not commit.

Marcellus Williams has maintained his innocence since the murder of Felicia Gayle in 1998. He was convicted of this crime without evidence, with the case against him resting upon two unreliable witnesses. Recently, DNA testing has confirmed that Williams’ DNA was nowhere to be found at the crime scene.

Yet despite the evidence, and despite the fact that Gayle’s family opposes the execution, Missouri Governor Mike Parson has denied clemency to Williams.

With all legal avenues exhausted in the state of Missouri, Williams and his legal team are hoping for a last-minute intervention by the United States Supreme Court.
