#PeoplesHistory | Today, we remember Black revolutionary leader Fred Hampton. He would have turned 76 today.

Hampton was the chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party (BPP) and one of its national leaders. The Chicago police assassinated him at age 21, in what has been described by many as a summary execution.

US-based activists delivered 800 tons of flour to Cuba via the “Let Cuba Live: Bread for our Neighbors” campaign.

“The concept of the campaign is simple: Cuba is our neighbor, and we can’t let our neighbors go hungry,” said Manolo De Los Santos, Executive Director of The People’s Forum. “This hunger is imposed directly by the White House, and Biden could end it right away by allowing Cuba to trade freely.”

Rixi Moncada, recently appointed Secretary of Defense and co-founder of the Honduran LIBRE party, expressed her support for Honduran President Xiomara Castro, amid growing tensions with the United States.

Last week, Xiomara Castro announced that the country would suspend its extradition agreement with the United States. The decision was made in response to comments made by the US Ambassador to Honduras, Laura Dogu, regarding different high-ranking Honduran officials who had traveled to Venezuela and met with Venezuelan officials.

Following the termination of the extradition agreement between Honduras and the United States requested by President Xiomara Castro, the Central American country has experienced a political earthquake.

In light of this decision, the right-wing opposition in Honduras has accused the executive branch of making the decision due to alleged relations between some government officials and criminal groups.

President Castro’s decision was taken after the US Ambassador in Tegucigalpa, Laura Dogu, made statements to Honduran media questioning the meeting of several Honduran officials with Venezuelan officials.

Friday and Sunday marked a significant development in Israel’s massive incursion in the West Bank with resistance operations being carried out in the southern region in Hebron.

This development will also have its repercussions on Israel’s multi-front war in the region, after the Zionist state has engulfed itself in a war of attrition that has not achieved any of its goals.

Since its inception, the mission has been widely repudiated by Haitian civil society as well as by progressive and left groups in Haiti and across the world, precisely for being another military invasion of the country and ignoring the political solutions that the Haitian people have proposed to end the ongoing political, economic, and security crisis.

Moreover, some experts claim that this is a form of mercenarism, in which “first world” countries pay for invasions while the boots on the ground come from “third world” armies.

#PeoplesHistory | Today, we commemorate the Little Rock Nine - a group of nine Black students who courageously enrolled in Little Rock Central High School in 1957.

On September 4, 1957, the governor of Arkansas ordered the deployment of the Arkansas National Guard to "preserve the peace" and prevent Black students from entering the school.

The governor claimed that there was an "imminent danger of tumult, riot, and breach of peace" due to integration. A mob of white segregationists was also present and prevented the Black students' entry.

On September 23, 1957, President Eisenhower issued Executive Order 10730 to federalize the Arkansas National Guard and deploy them to support the integration and protect Black students.
