Chile and Mexico have called upon the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate the crimes being committed amid Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza.

In a statement released on January 18, Mexico and Chile stated that their referral to the ICC was “due to growing concern about the latest escalation of violence, particularly against civilian targets, and the alleged continued commission of crimes under the jurisdiction of the Court, specifically since the attack on October 7, 2023, carried out by Hamas militants and the subsequent hostilities in Gaza.”

“Well, when you say working, are they stopping the Houthis? No,” responded Biden, quite frankly. “Are they going to continue? Yes.”

#PeoplesHistory | Today, we honor Italian Marxist Antonio #Gramsci's revolutionary legacy of elevating class consciousness to challenge fascist hegemony.

Gramsci strove to expose and resist the ruling elite's ideological instruments used to maintain control and to create conditions for the working class to achieve an egalitarian future. Despite being imprisoned for organizing Italy's workers against capitalist and fascist oppression, this revolutionary thinker, through his writings, continued to chart the course for the working class to break its shackles.

Gramsci's peerless analysis of class struggle remains indispensable for revolutionary movements confronting capitalism and fascism today.

Iranian foreign minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian accused Israel of using “mindless terrorism” to cover up its losses in its war on Gaza.

Abdollahian claimed that, “although the Zionist enemy has destroyed Gaza on a large scale and martyred tens of thousands of people, it has not achieved any of its goals, so it is trying to make up for its defeat by resorting to blind terrorism,” Press TV reported.

On January 22, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the consecration ritual at a temple dedicated to the Hindu god Ram in the city of Ayodhya, fulfilling the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) 2014 electoral promise just months before another general election.

While the BJP’s ideological parent, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and its affiliated organizations that comprise the umbrella Sangh Parivar, had maintained that the demolition of the mosque was the result of spontaneous mobilizations of kar sevaks (religious devotees), reports and accounts, particularly the Liberhan Commission inquiry stated otherwise.

#PeoplesHistory | Today, we remember the iconic legacy of Paul Robeson—a world-renowned singer, actor, athlete, and activist who epitomized proletarian internationalism and solidarity.

A vocal advocate for labor and an outspoken critic of fascism and imperialism, Robeson brought relentless passion in fighting oppression and injustice. His radical politics and embrace of socialism made him a prime target for the US government's attempts to stifle dissent.

Despite constant surveillance and condemnation, Robeson refused to disavow being a leftist or supporting the Soviet Union. His principled stands came at immense personal cost as a smear campaign stripped him of the fame he earned across artistic, academic, and athletic realms—even denying a US passport that left him stranded for years.

Though the establishment attempted to write Robeson out of history books, his extraordinary talents and unwavering commitment to truth continue inspiring new revolutionary generations today.
