Communists and peace activists protested the recent move by the governments of Denmark, Finland, and Sweden to sign military deals with the United States government, which completely reverses those countries’ traditional policy of military neutrality.

The agreements will give the US unrestricted military access to many bases in these countries and permission to the US to station military personnel, vehicles, and armaments.

As Israel continues its genocidal bombing campaign of the Gaza strip, it scaled up repressive attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank.

🇦🇷 Tens of thousands have started to mobilize in Buenos Aires, Argentina in front of the country’s courts to reject the Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU) 70/2023 announced by President Javier Milei on Wednesday December 20 which severely undermines workers’ rights and promotes the deregulation of the economy.

Thousands took to the streets of Buenos Aires, Argentina to reject the neoliberal austerity measures of Javier Milei. Trade unions such as CGT CTA CTA(A) ATE were joined by social movements who termed the president's decree "unconstitutional" and called on the country's courts to overturn it. They also protested the dismissal of 7,000 public sector workers in the last week.

Palestinian human rights organizations reject West Bank arrests and raids.

Israeli security forces have also drastically stepped up their attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, with dozens of military raids today, along with reports of a drone strike on a refugee camp in the West Bank.

🇵🇸 Airstrikes and ground bombardment by the Israeli forces have once again targeted several parts of Northern, Central and Southern Gaza, while reports noted that Palestinian resistance fighters have engaged Israeli soldiers on the ground in fierce battles across Gaza, resulting in significant casualties among the Israeli troops as well.

The death toll in the enclave is approaching 22,000 and more than 55,300 Palestinians have also been injured as a result of the Israeli war. Concern is growing for the more than 7,000 reported to be missing and the several thousand Gazans that have been kidnapped by Israel and detained.

Biden is about to wrap another dismal year as his administration’s participation in the genocide in Israel is set to wreak havoc on his 2024 presidential campaign.

As a result, voters, especially Arab-American voters, have abandoned their support for Biden and the Democratic Party in droves. But Biden is no stranger to neglecting the demands of his base, as his record as president has shown.

Anti-imperialists in Greece protested the docking of the US Navy’s aircraft carrier USS Gerald Ford at the Souda Port in Chania.

Activists held a banner that read “There is no place here for murderers! US and NATO soldiers are not welcome!” The aircraft carrier docked at the port on December 26 and is scheduled to leave on December 30.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) warned once again on Thursday, December 28 that “Gaza is grappling with catastrophic hunger” and at least 40% of its population is at “the risk of famine.” Despite the UN Security Council resolution adopted last week, not enough aid is entering the besieged territory, the agency added.
