According to the report, abortion “remains criminalized and heavily regulated in most countries.” This disproportionately affects poor and working-class women, as well as those residing in remote areas where healthcare is less accessible.

🇵🇸/🇵🇭 “War is violence against women” say feminist groups in the Philippines
On the first day of an 18-day global campaign to end violence against women, feminist groups in the Philippines highlighted the call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza as a step towards a permanent solution to the question of Palestine.

“War is violence against women. It is as clear as day in the ongoing hostage and prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas that women are disproportionately victimized in war. The history of conflicts reveals this ugly truth. Thus, we call for a stop to the war in Palestine and elsewhere. And demand a just peace,” argued Judy Ann Miranda, secretary general of Partido Manggagawa (PM). PM is among the groups that participated in an activity on November 25.

Are there any paranoids in the stadium tonight? Two nights in Santiago with Roger Waters

No one does a stadium show like Roger Waters. The music, of course, is resplendent, but so too are the soundscape, the images, the giant sheep and pig, the lasers, the films, the energy of the fans who—despite the language differences—sing along… “Did you exchange a walk-on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?” It is a riot of emotions.

An article by Vijay Prashad.

🇵🇸 Across the globe, mobilizations called for the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

November 29 marks the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, called for originally in 1977 by the UN General Assembly as a commemoration of the day the UN adopted the resolution on the partition of Palestine in 1947.

Now, 76 years after partition, Israel has violated international law and resolutions relating to Palestine, and has slowly attempted to occupy all of Palestinian land. Today, Israel is also waging one of the most violent wars on Palestine in decades, which has claimed at least 15,000 lives in Gaza in less than 50 days, the vast majority being women and children.
