Israel has just bombed the Baptist Hospital in Gaza, killing at least 500 Palestinians. The number is expected to increase. 🇵🇸 On October 17, Israeli forces bombed the Baptist Hospital (Al Ahli Arab Hospital) in central Gaza, massacring over 500 Palestinians, all civilians. Over 600 are injured and may die soon as Israel is refusing to permit aid, including medical supplies, for victims.

The hospital bombing sent shockwaves around the world. The Gaza Ministry of Health held a press conference amidst the bodies of slain Palestinians in the aftermath of the bombing. According to Quds News Network, the Ministry “confirmed that all victims are civilians and that the hospital has been always deemed a safe place for Gazans.”

🇵🇸 The bombing and killing of at least 500 people at Al-Ahli Arab Hospital by the Israeli occupation forces in central Gaza late on October 17 was seen by many as no accident.

In the past twelve days of the latest round of Israeli war on Gaza not only have health activists and ambulances been stopped at checkpoints and faced violence from the occupying forces, but more than 12 Palestinian health workers have been killed in the indiscriminate Israeli bombings so far.

🇮🇹 The functioning and future of Italy’s National Health Service or Servizio sanitario nazionale (SSN) have become one of the most important mobilizing issues for trade unions, civil society organizations, and ordinary citizens.

Just like health systems in many other European countries, the SSN has fallen prey to policies that promote the participation of the private sector in service provision, weakening the public, tax-based system, which is supposed to provide care to everyone.
