Recently, Bank Islam Malaysia launched SME Smart Eco (ECO), a new financing programme to help SMEs finance their investments in green sustainability.
In the words of Bank Islam Director of SME Banking, Rizal Mohd Yusof, “The programme is designed to encourage investments in the green technology industry, whether for the production of green products as a producer, or for purchasing green technology for adoption as a user”.
With regards to the importance of #ESG, Rizal Mohd Yusof underlined that as SMEs represent the backbone of Malaysia’s economy, they also have a part to play in helping the nation achieve its ambitions of carbon neutrality.
