Ethics Marks Maximizer
Fortitude: courage in pain or adversity
Example: Tukaram Omble, during 26/11 terror attack in Mumbai, stood in front of Ajmal Kasab and held on to the barrel of Kasab’s rifle, thus preventing the bullets from hitting anyone else but him. The rest of the team managed to overpower and apprehend Kasab. Omble took over 40 bullets from an Ak-47 at point blank range and accepted martyrdom
Lessons from the Lives of leaders
Example:
Kalam took great care of his colleagues.
A co-worker had promised his kids that he would take them to the science museum after returning from work, and obtained the prior permission of Mr. Kalam to leave early. The colleague was so engrossed in his work that it was well into the evening when he realised that he had made a promise to his kids.
On rushing back home, he came to know from his wife that Mr. Kalam had come earlier and taken his kids to the museum.

Ethical Lessons from the life of administrators is an important topic. However you must quote specific instances of the administrators which reflect ethical values instead of merely dumping various values.
This will also help in writing great anecdotes in the philosophical essays.

Anecdote on perseverance, Will power and attitude
Attitude Determines Altitude
Once, a young school boy was caught in a fire accident in his school and was assumed that he would not live. His mother was told that he was sure to die, for the terrible fire had devastated the lower half of his body. Even if he were to survive, he would be a cripple throughout his life.
But the brave boy did not want to die nor did he want to be a cripple.ATTITUDE . His determination to walk was indomitable and his persistence finally paid off. He began to walk to school, then run to school, to run for the sheer joy of running. Later in college he made the track team.
In February 1934, in New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden, this young man who was not expected to survive, who would surely never walk, who could never hope to run – this determined young man, Dr. Glenn Cunningham, ran the world’s fastest mile.(ALTITUDE)
#You may also observe how the story is narrated. First the context is set then his journey is narrated beautifully with specifics (events, dates, place etc) and delineating his attitude explicitly. So whenever you write an anecdote in an Essay, try to write like this. A badly written anecdote will not fetch you marks. Even though the story is interesting yet it needs to be told in an interesting manner to generate interest.

Dear students,
At Delhi Cantt Railway station, I noticed the citizen charter of Indian Railway.
Please note following important points from this
1. Services offered are specifically identified with the time limit
2. Single Window Agency is identified and dedicated for the non compliance.
3. Grievance Redressal Mechanism with time limits for the disposal of the complainants.
4. Expected duties from the citizens
These are important pillors for any citizen charter and can be used as case study in GS Paper_2, Ethics Paper and Public administration.
However can you identify any lacuna in this charter? Please do comment.

Anecdote on positive attitude
Thomas Edison and his attitude towards Failures
On 10th December 1914, there was a massive explosion in West Orange, New Jersey, USA. The legendary inventor who owned 10 buildings in a factory was engulfed by flames. Six to eight fire departments rushed to the scene but, could not curb the chemical inferno. After having tried all that he could, Edison calmly stood there watching the fire destroy, his entire life’s hard work.
His 24 year old son Charles came over and stood next to him. In a child like voice, Edison said to his son “Charlie, go and get your mother and friends. They will never be able to see a spectacular fire like this in their entire life. Astonished and shocked by his father’s response, Charles asked Edison, Our entire factory is being burnt down to ashes dad.” Thomas Edison replied with complete composure “Yes, Our factory is being burnt down to ashes, all the mistakes we have made so far in the factory also are burnt down to ashes too. We will start all over again, tomorrow.”
.................
I have not summarized it as it will be easier for you to remember it like a story..
In exam, you may write elaborately if writing an essay anecdote or just use it briefly as a supporting example in ethics paper
