CBE Launches Direct Agricultural Loans for Smallholder Farmers

CBE has launched a new loan product specifically designed for smallholder farmers and pastoralists. The service, announced at an event attended by State Minister of Agriculture, Meles Mekonnen (PhD) and other officials, marks a direct effort to increase formal credit access for individual farmers and herding groups.

Unlike the bank's existing agricultural loans, this new product targets the needs of small-scale producers. CBE's Corporate Services Executive Vice President, Ephrem Mekuria, stated the loans will support a range of activities including crop and vegetable production, animal husbandry, fertilizers, dairy farming, and the purchase of machinery.

Farmers who own agricultural land, are organized in groups, have been with the bank for 6 months or more, and are engaged in crop cultivation, vegetables and fruits, milk and milk products, and livestock development will benefit from the service. #EBR

የኢትዮጵያ ንግድ ባንክ ለኢትዮጵያ አየር መንገድ ሠራተኞች መኖሪያ ቤት ግንባታ የሚውል የ27.8 ቢሊዮን ብር የብድር ስምምነት ማድረጉ ተገልጿል።

ይህ በኢትዮጵያ አየር መንገድ እና በኢትዮጵያ ንግድ ባንክ መካከል የተደረገው ስምምነት፤ የአየር መንገዱን ሠራተኞች የመኖሪያ ቤት ችግር በዘላቂነት ለመፍታትና አስፈላጊውን የፋይናንስ አቅርቦት ለማመቻቸት ያለመ ነው።

የኢትዮጵያ ንግድ ባንክ ፕሬዝዳንት ተወካይ አቶ ኤፍሬም መኩሪያ እንደገለጹት፤
ባለፈው ዓመት ባንኩ ካቀረበው 458 ቢሊዮን ብር ብድር ውስጥ 88 በመቶው ለግል ዘርፉ ተሰጥቷል፤ ይህም ባንኩ ለሀገሪቱ ኢኮኖሚ አንቀሳቃሾች የሚሰጠውን ትኩረት እንደሚያሳይ ተገልጸዋል። አሁን የተደረገው ስምምነትም የሀገሪቱን ግዙፍ ልማቶች ለማሳለጥ የጎላ ድርሻ እንደሚኖረው አክለዋል።

የኢትዮጵያ አየር መንገድ ዋና ሥራ አስፈጻሚ አቶ መስፍን ጣሰው ፤ አየር መንገዱ የሠራተኞቹን የቤት ችግር ለመፍታት ቀደም ሲል 1 ሺህ 200 ቤቶችን አስገንብቶ ማስተላለፉን አስታውሰዋል። በአሁኑ ወቅትም ለተጨማሪ 5 ሺህ ሠራተኞች የመኖሪያ ቤት ግንባታ እየተከናወነ እንደሚገኝ ገልጸዋል።

ይህ ሰፊ የግንባታ ሂደት ከፍተኛ ፋይናንስ የሚጠይቅ በመሆኑ፤ ከኢትዮጵያ ንግድ ባንክ ጋር የተደረገው የብድር ስምምነት ለግንባታው መሳካትና መጠናቀቅ ወሳኝ ሚና እንደሚጫወት አቶ መስፍን ገልጸዋል።

Carrefour announces a franchise and supply Partnership with Queens Supermarket PLC, a subsidiary of Midroc Investment Group, for the roll-out of Carrefour banners, expertise and products in Ethiopia.

Under this agreement, will support Midroc teams in the transformation of the entire stores network under Carrefour banners, and in the implementation of an ambitious expansion plan. The first stores will be rebranded by first half of 2026.

ይህም በባንኩ በኩል ከተከናወኑ ጠቅላላ ዝውውሮች እና ክፍያዎች 88 በመቶ ገደማ ድርሻ ይይዛል ተብሏል።

ይህ ውጤት ይፋ የተደረገው ባንኩ የግማሽ ዓመት የሥራ አፈጻጸሙን በገመገመበት ወቅት ሲሆን፣ የስትራቴጂክ ዕቅድ እና ትራንስፎርሜሽን ምክትል ፕሬዝዳንት አቶ ወጋየሁ ገብረማርያም የባንኩን የስድስት ወራት ሪፖርት አቅርበዋል።

እንደ አቶ ወጋየሁ ገለጻ፣ በተያዘው ወቅት በዲጂታል መሠረተ-ልማቶች ከዘጠኝ ትሪሊዮን ብር በላይ ግብይት የተከናወነ ሲሆን፣ ይህም ከጠቅላላ የባንክ ግብይቱ 87.9 በመቶ ድርሻ አለው ብለዋል።

በባለፈው በጀት ዓመት ባንኩ በሀገሪቱ የዲጂታል ግብይት እና ክፍያ ውስጥ 73 በመቶ ድርሻ እንደነበረው የጠቀሱት ምክትል ፕሬዝዳንቱ፣ በዚህ ዓመትም ባንኩ በኢትዮጵያ የዲጂታል ክፍያ ዘርፍ ያለውን የበላይነት እንደሚያስቀጥል አመልክተዋል።

ምክትል ፕሬዝዳንቱ ይህ ውጤት ሊመዘገብ የቻለው የዲጂታል ባንክ አገልግሎት ተጠቃሚዎች ቁጥር እየጨመረ በመምጣቱ እና ይህም የደንበኞችን ተደራሽነትና የባንኩን የሥራ ቅልጥፍና በማሻሻሉ እንደሆነ ተናግረዋል።

በተያያዘም፣ የኢትዮጵያ ንግድ ባንክ በግማሽ ዓመቱ 36.19 ቢሊዮን ብር ጠቅላላ ትርፍ ማግኘቱን አስታውቋል።
