Joe Rogan is either going to capitulate or suffer deplatforming. The regime won’t tolerate this level of wrongthink occurring on such a big platform for much longer.

I think Burnham was ultimately wrong about the managerial revolution. A central claim he makes is that such a revolution would entail increased state ownership of industry. He was writing in the 40s so this made sense at the time.

What we see now is that globalism doesn’t involve state ownership of industry, but rather an increasingly powerful and invasive state dictating the parameters within which industry—and human life in general—can operate.

Burnham differentiates between managers (those who oversee production) and political bureaucrats (those who oversee governance). Yet I see people conflating the two all the time. If anything we’ve had a revolution of the latter, not the former.

With that said, The Managerial Revolution is an insightful book, even if it doesn’t hold up 100%. It’s definitely worth engaging with.
