Starbucks dropping the vaccine mandate is an interesting development. I would hesitate to draw any definite conclusions from this, though. While the era of lockdowns and shelter in place orders is, for the most part, behind us, vaccine apartheid will be with us for the foreseeable future.

At this rate, if covid “ends”—i.e. the establishment says the pandemic is largely over or on the decline—vaccine mandates will nevertheless remain. As to when those end, it’s anyone’s guess.
