Have any GOP politicians or conservative pundits even proposed a solution to cancel culture, which they regularly lament? I’m genuinely curious. All I see is complaining—there doesn’t even appear to be a pretense of having a plan.

Often no, but sometimes establishment conservatives at least outline a specific course of action, regardless of whether or not they plan to carry it out. In the case of cancel culture, I’ve yet to see any proposals.

Is there ever a plan? Lol

The term cancel culture, of course, fails to fully capture the severity of the situation. It makes me think of some rich celebrity getting shamed for an offensive joke. The reality is that we live under soft totalitarianism, a system in which expressing the ‘wrong’ opinions carries an immense social cost. And, as we’ve seen this year, soft totalitarianism is quickly tending toward hard totalitarianism, as the power of the state is increasingly weaponized against dissidents.

“Stop cancel culture!” - conservatives who support the blackballing of sincere patriots

The truth is that most people support cancel culture applied to those whom they dislike. The issue is that the establishment right is more inclined to cancel real right-wingers, whereas the left—which has far more institutional power—is focused on collectively cancelling the right.
