Interesting WSJ op-ed: The author concedes that our ruling class has made an absolute mess of things, while at the same time smearing Trump as a dumb racist. Regardless, he's correct about the coronavirus empowering Trump. Despite the administration's initial hesitance to address the pandemic, the latest Gallup poll shows 60% of respondents believing that Trump is responding to the coronavirus well. 49% approve of Trump overall, which is significant. Trump has styled himself as a wartime president for a reason—look into the rally 'round the flag effect.

As these curves grow and separate, the US will be divided into red and green zones. States which have the virus somewhat under control will be green zones. They will quarantine or outright prohibit visitors from red zones. AK and HI are already doing this.…

Blame Drumpf all you want, but bureaucratic red tape has played a huge role in America's inability to adequately respond to coronavirus. We saw this initially with the tests – now with the production of medical equipment.
