๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช Germany is better 'equipped' to deal with severe COVID19 cases because of its ventilator manufacturing.

Germany has the 4th highest total of daily new cases but only 8 deaths.

Germany has 25,000 intensive care beds with artificial ventilators at 1,160 hospitals; the highest in Europe. @COVID19Up

"Its analysis of coronavirus cases in China and elsewhere shows that about 17 per cent of people admitted to intensive care develop a condition called acute respiratory distress syndrome (Ards) - one of the most lethal conditions in medicine, with a mortality rate of about 40 per cent."

Given that 80% of coronavirus infections are mild, many have concluded that thereโ€™s nothing to worry about. Get the coronavirus, tough it out for ten days, and then move on with your life. Applied on the macro level thatโ€™s more or less the UK governmentโ€™s strategy โ€“ โ€œherd immunity,โ€ as Iโ€™m sure youโ€™ve heard it described โ€“ despite objections from a growing body of experts.

But is it that simple? No, not really. Thereโ€™s evidence to suggest that COVID-19 can result in long term respiratory and reproductive (!) damage.
