This isn’t to say that it’s fake; clearly, powerful forces wish to remove Trump from office. However, Trump is far less of a threat now than when he entered office. Indeed, there are powerful forces that want him to remain too. He isn’t the wild card he was once perceived to be.

I would recommend doing just about anything else than paying attention to the impeachment proceedings. Staying up to date with the major developments is worthwhile, perhaps, but you’d be better off staring at the wall than obsessing over impeachment minutiae.

Also, some general advice: Don’t use politics as an excuse to shirk personal responsibilities/development. Doing so makes you no better than the proverbial cool wine aunt. The two needn’t be mutually exclusive, but oftentimes they are.
