1. Some members of the #PDF Naypydaw battalion cross on the back of an elephant the Htoo Chaung River in the #Karenni territory to head to the #Loikaw front.
The People's Defense Force is the military arm of the Government of National Unity (#NUG) of Myanmar, the executive deposed by the military putsch in February 2021 and which today, in exile, represents the legitimate government of the country.
The PDF was born on May 5, 2021 and includes young people from all over the country who have decided to join the ethnic guerrillas to fight the regime.
2. Maui, 31 years old, general of the revolutionary formation #KNDF (Karenni Nationalities Defense Force), before the pustch he was an agronomist with a degree in geology. After the military junta took power he was among the founders of the rebel group and today he is the military leader of the Karenni guerrilla. Every year he gets the tally marks tattooed on his back as to remember his soldiers who fell in battle. Today 369 KNDF soldiers lost their lives in the conflict.
3. On June 28, 2024, the junta forces begin a large-scale attack to regain full control of the city of Loikaw. The military uses artillery and drones without interruption. A soldier, little more that twenty-year-old, member of the General Maui’s unit, was irremediably hit in the eye by a fragment of a missile Grad.
4. In a secret location in the jungle near #Demoso, #Kayah state, a prison has been established where several military junta soldiers captured in the city of Shar Twa during the battle that took place in February 2024. The prisoners are forced to spend their days with one leg immobilized in a wooden pillory
5. Children in a school in Demoso take refuge in an anti-aircraft bunker.

🇲🇲 River Boat Ambushes in #Myanmar / #Burma: @ourwarstoday
#Burmese military junta boats traveling the #Chindwin and other rivers in the country have increasingly been attacked by anti-junta rebel forces of varying factions. Drone dropped grenades, rocket launchers, rudimentary naval mining, and small arms fire have all been seen utilized against these vessels.
Although some of these attacks have persisted since the start of the civil war, or some even before, the frequency of videos showing the attacks has increased in the past year, often by local #PDF militia (People's Defense Forces).
In the first video, Carl Gustaf recoilless rifles can be seen used by guerillas to strike the military junta ships.

🇲🇲 Footage of anti-junta Myingyan Black Tiger (#MBT) militant fighters in #Myanmar/#Burma engaged in combat with military junta troops of the State Adminstation Council (#SAC) in Myingyan Township of the #Mandalay Region around November 14th 2024. MBT sources reported the battle lasted for three days between MBT's 9th Battalion and SAC soldiers. Airstrikes and ground attacks by the military kicked off the clash, and after the deaths of several soldiers and the loss of three drones, they reportedly retreated. The MBT says only one of their fighters was injured, but soldiers reportedly killed three civilians and burned down houses in the Ku Ywa and Kwan Sai villages.
Significant amounts of footage of MBT fighters in the area has surfaced in recent months, with clashes in the area only begininng of August 2024 between People's Defense Forces (#PDF) and junta soldiers amidst the ongoing civil war that started in 2021 after the coup of the democratic goverment by the now-ruling junta military council.
The Tigers are a local defense group for the area and have fought in nearby regions alongside other anti-junta forces often PDF, it is unclear when exactly they emerged but footage of them online dates back to October of 2023 and mentions back to May of 2023 in the Irrawaddy outlet. Their Telegram channel showcases footage of their attacks and activity dating to March of 2023. They have forged alliances with other groups such as in the formation of the Myaung and Yesagyo Yaylekyun Local Defense Alliance Force where-in they brought local resistance groups together in September of 2023. Notably, Myingyan's notorious prison was turned into a torture and abuse camp for political prisoners in late May of 2023, serving in a previous role back in the 1990s during the previous junta regime. As with all regions with opposition to the military's coup, the civilian populace is often subjected to bombings by jets and mortar impacts. Offensives across the country have tied up the junta's resources so a heavy reliance on airstrikes and local pro-junta militia forces have been the trend in the "Dry Zone" of western Mandalay, or Anyar, according to Frontier Myanmar in September of 2024.
