Student-athlete Ajay Singh Shergill (Year 4, FASS) navigates competitive sport and university life with focus and intention.

Introduced to volleyball at age nine, Ajay is a former NUS Volleyball captain, ASEAN University Games medallist, NUS Sports Scholarship holder and NUS Achievement Awards recipient. Ajay is a firm believer that hard work and consistency matter more than talent alone in sports and study.

At the SEA Games 2025 in Thailand, Team Singapore achieved a historic haul of 202 medals and TeamNUS was right at the heart of it. With 75 students and alumni in action, our athletes contributed an incredible 64 medals across multiple sports, proving that academic excellence and elite performance don’t just coexist, they thrive together.
