1. кајање;
2. исповедање грехова;
3. молитву за опроштај;

About Confession

Confession is one of the Christian sacraments in which a believer confesses his sins to a priest (confessor) and receives forgiveness for sins committed after baptism, in order to renew his communion with God and reconcile with the liturgical community of which he is a member.

The sacraments of repentance and confession, in the Christian tradition, are considered indispensable principles in the life of a believer.

The sacrament of confession presupposes four elements:
1. repentance;
2. confession of sins;
3. prayer for forgiveness;
4. reconciliation with the community, which is manifested in Holy Communion.
Repentance has a permanent character and can be performed independently of Communion.

Confession is performed in a church or confessional, before a priest. The believer then confesses everything that torments his soul and that burdens his conscience, distances him from communion with God and divine service. Sins are confessed, even those committed in thoughts and desires. It is advisable to confess every sin against his neighbor, because every sin committed against people is also committed against God.

Based on the confession, the priest can give different spiritual remedies - penance, depending on the seriousness of the sins: extraordinary fasting, special prayers, compensation for someone we have harmed, works of mercy, or not approaching the Holy Sacrament of Communion for a certain period of time.

Modern confessors are forbidden to reveal the sins of those confessed.

No death is more bitter than the death of an unholy sinner. His wickedness kindles fire and an unquenchable flame, despair and the loss of all hope. Deliver us from such a death and have mercy on us according to Your goodness!

In the Resurrection Chapel the notorious Dachau concentration camp at is a large icon depicting angels opening the camp’s gates, and Christ Himself leading the prisoners to freedom in the final days of WWII in 1945.

On April 29, a week before Pascha, “the electric power is turned off, the gates open and the American GIs make their entrance. As they stare wide-eyed at our lot, half-starved and suffering from typhus and dysentery, they appear more like fifteen-year-old boys than battle-weary soldiers...

Among the prisoners there were Orthodox priests, deacons and monks from Mount Athos. But there were no vestments, no books, no icons, no candles, no prosphoras, no wine. Efforts to acquire all these items from the Russian parish in Munich failed, as the Americans could not locate anyone from that parish in the devastated city… [1/2]

St. Nicholas Parish in Lipras Manukan, the Philippines. Part of the Diocese of the Philippines and Vietnam under the Moscow Patriarchate, it is one of the most remote Orthodox parishes on the island of Mindanao. This southern island is the major nexus of the Russian Orthodox mission to the Philippines, and the largest number of Orthodox churches in the country is located there. This one is located a long distance from the major concentration of former Aglipayan converts clustered around General Santos, and the faithful here are largely isolated from their brethren located elsewhere. Despite this this parish is also growing, receiving a permanent priest just a year ago and baptizing six converts this past February.

In one church, a priest noticed that almost every Sunday at the Liturgy, a certain servant of God with two crutches stood and prayed. Once after the service, he approached her, asked her name, inquired about the circumstances of her life and, by the way, inquired whether it was difficult for her to be in the church of God every Sunday with such sore legs. In response, the woman uttered amazing words: "Yes, Father, it is difficult, but before my legs go to the church, my heart goes first."
