Today, thursday Sep 25, Felix Specker (ETH) will host a new episode of the OEMC Science Webinar series on Zoom at 14.00 (CET). He will present about the Use-case World Reforestation Monitor / https://Restor.eco platform: please join us and make lots of question πŸ›°πŸŒ³πŸŒ² https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_jIFMqR_WQw6XY6mxw3Di0Q

If you maybe missed the #EOSummerSchool2025 at WICC, video-recordings πŸ“Ό are now available: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXUoTpMa_9s1SAWuByfXxzC20lgqUAie6&si=2w8q0Bmv7xXJZ0jY
Lecture materials / computational notebooks are listed at: https://pretalx.earthmonitor.org/opengeohub-summer-school-2025/schedule/
Some video recordings had technical issues. 🚧 We are working on resolving issues of "frozen slides" and poor audio quality.
The event was organized in collaboration with EO Council (https://www.eo-council.nl/), Netherlands Space Office (https://www.spaceoffice.nl/en/) and SURF (https://www.surf.nl/en/).
We had an excellent conference at Perugia: Open-Earth-Monitor Global Workshop 2025. If you missed it, we video-recorded πŸ“Ό all talks: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXUoTpMa_9s01Bgg1ju3Jr3-14eilWHTB
Topics covered include: #OpenEO #CDSE #Copernicus monitoring of #deforestation Big vector and gridded data, workshops in #Python data fusion in climate science, hydrology & novel global #soil data sets
🚧 some videos (3-4) unfortunately due to technical problems have poor video/audio quality. 2026 Global Workshop is coming to: Barcelona!
πŸ“’ New open EO Landsat data on #CDSE: In the last 2 years we have put an effort to process the global UMD_GLAD Landsat ARD 16-day version 2 (https://doi.org/10.3390/rs12030426) to produce bi-monthly composites for 1997-2024. This data is now available openly and within the Europe's central infrastructure for EO data #CDSE:
https://browser.stac.dataspace.copernicus.eu/collections/opengeohub-landsat-bimonthly-mosaic-v1.0.1
We are already working on the OpenGeoHub Landsat 4C-ARCO V2 which will be monthly, 16-bit and should have less artifacts / be more consistent. Learn more about how can open Earth Observation change how we monitor and manage natural resources and where how can you access this data: https://av.tib.eu/publisher/OpenGeoHub_Foundation
See the data in action, come to the NSO - Netherlands Space Office hosted #EGW2025 event in Den Hague 13-15 October: https://eurogeosec.eu/egw2025/

Soil Health Data Cube (#SHDC) has just been updated (to v1.1)! Dynamic soil properties and soil health indicators at 30 m resolution 2000-2024 for pan-EU as #OpenData. Several issues in data and front-end have been systematically improved (thanks to many colleagues from @ai4soilhealth@bird.makeup project and various national agencies). You can access the updated data from https://stac.EcoDataCube.eu and explore via https://EcoDataCube.eu. Technical documentation: https://shdc.ai4soilhealth.eu.
If you are at #EUAgriFoodDays in Brussels (https://agriculture.ec.europa.eu/eu-agri-food-days_en), come to the AI 4 Soil Health stand on Wednesday 17th Dec (Day 3 – Agri-Digital Day) and get a walk through - how can you easily access the SHDC data and how could you use it to help manage land? Which soil agronomy data is still missing and what should we add to SHDC in 2026?
