Mindblowingly, the herbicide spray atrazine is still widely used in NZ and USA, though banned in the EU.

Listen to UC Berkley scientist Tyrone Haynes talk 9 years ago about how it turns male frogs into females and could have similar effects in humans too. When he made this discovery, Tyrone says the manufacturer Syngenta tried to persuade him to falsify the data. When he wouldn't, they discredited him and threatened him with violence.

Unbelievable!

Is there such a thing as TOO free range? Couldn't find one duck's nest to collect eggs, so got ducklings instead. Next summer we'll have more of the tastiest, richest, most nutrient dense eggs imaginable. Funny, never liked duck eggs til we tasted our own. Must be those pure Taranaki streams they swim in and the royal diet they eat.

You can have 99 problems in life, until you have a health problem.

Then you only have 1 problem.
A delightful surprise inside each orange! Thank you Siema Organicsnz looking forward to the next.
If a $1.79 broccoli risks your health, is it really cheap?

The EPA in New Zealand issued an alert about the herbicide DCPA following a total ban in the US. It’s known to cause irreversible damage to fetuses.

In the EU, it has been banned since 2009.

DCPA herbicide is known to cause:

* Disruption of fetal thyroid hormone levels
* Low birth weight
* Impaired brain development
* Decreased IQ
* Impaired motor skills

How are we supposed to trust our regulators when, for decades, we’re told sprays are ‘totally fine,’ only to later find out they cause birth defects?

As parents and health-conscious consumers, we need to stay informed and make our own choices.

By making conscious food choices, we encourage local organic farmers to grow healthier food!

It’s an upward spiral.

Learn how to avoid invisible, harmful sprays like DCPA on the Ooooby Blog.

GMOs that were banned for decades, now suddenly ‘safe’?

Food Standards ANZ is pushing to allow gene editing (modification) in New Zealand by the end of 2024.

Their reasons range from ‘modernising regulation’ to claiming gene editing has an ‘equivalent risk to conventional foods’.

You mean like using sprays banned in the US and EU because they’re known to cause birth defects but still allowed in New Zealand?

Perhaps regulators think we’re too busy putting food on the table to notice their hypocrisy?
