Hey folks,

The basics of the platform are ready to use, therefore you’re free to create user profiles at occurai.com

It’s not yet populated with the companies, and I’m currently working on recommendations. But one step at the time.

p.s. feel free to ping @ufi00 if you see any critical bugs or have any suggestions

Hey folks,

I’ve added resume parser, so now it puts everything into the keywords field, also github and linkedin fields are used as a way to reach out [so people either will need to find your email on the page or reach you out directly].
I also use word vectors for recommendations now [the keyword field aka your resume works as a search query].

Added also some functionality for companies in case you’re hiring.

Feel free to register at occurai.com

Added Google OAuth for faster authorization.

Feel free to log in and upload your resume at occurai.com [and you need to opt-in as ‘available’ in the profile to be included in the recommendations].

Populating the platform with real companies from dealroom or crunchbase has some issues [mainly the price], so will do it manually. Given no funding, I have to aim into SaaS, so charging companies small amount per job posted as many platforms do.

Moved to SF, so even if not funding, then will find early stage deeptech companies.

Wrote a few scrapers and started populating the platform.

Sometimes companies have a custom career page not worth writing a scraper for, so doing it manually.
It seems many companies moved back to in-office policy, but will try to find remote-first.

Fusion and spacetech are having a boost, but there’s no way they will have remote roles.

Had an influx of bots on the platform, will either approve users manually or bring up a paymentwall.

I currently have ~1200 companies [up to series C, deeptech only], most of them out of SF/California.

I’ve limited the search option and full recommendation list by paid users [$50], free only gets the last out of 5 recommendation [they are ranked by similarity].

Looking for a job at a deeptech startup? occurai.com

Removed the payment requirement. Please donate if you’ll find a job through the platform.

Changed 5 matches to 15 due to lower matching quality [LLMs as the final pipeline narrowing would cost too much]. Currently it uses word vectors from Spacy, keywords overlap, and longest common subsequence with tuned up weights.

Although removed the <30 days since scraping requirement for posts, so you might face jobs that are already closed. Scraping still works, but with 40-60 days cycle.

Channel name was changed to «occuRai»
tldr; I’m starting a new role, but the scraping+recommendations are available at occurai.com

recruitment was taking too much time, and it was initially planned only as a source for data and revenue for AI research, so I tried to focus on the research in the last year [geomtetric DL, adjusting topnets from simplicial complex compute to spectral sequence aka from homology to homotopy], but faced some hardware limitations, and during market research tried to join either research groups in geoDL, or new HW compute architectures, the latter seemed more promisable and I’m joining one of them that utilizes superconductivity

the current platform functionality at occurai.com:
everything optimized to low-cost [currently I pay no more than $100/month for cloud], so the solution is simplified, no LLMs used [but I use transformer model for embeddings]
- I source companies manually [currently ~1400 companies, brief you can see at ‘jobs summary’ page, placeholder is for either remote or hybrid or not_found/ambiguous location]
- every 30 days scraper updates the current openings from the career pages
- recommendations are recomputed every 24h [appr near neighbor + some transformer, used only jobs in the last 30 days]
- currently there’s no hard match on location
- subscription is $10/month, just to cover cloud costs [will either go down with users, or I’ll add compute/llm for a better match and sourcing], but feel free to skip and just use LI, or YC, or remote etc.

how did I find the job:
- leetcode
- hardcore market research given my background
- tuned up resume [didn’t lie in it, but stretched to the max]
- applied to ~1k jobs in the last year
- talked to ~50, most were agentic startups, but noticable are Shopify and Deepmind
- failed a few tech interviews
- emails to the companies that have no open roles yet [that’s how I got the offer eventually]

Hyatt in San Francisco doesn't look bad, 70s modernism, hollow inside, but anyone still uses Datadog?
