The team consists of a variety of nationalities who have traded in a dozen countries in all areas of oil and derivatives. The team is active, both in the trading of physical oil within and outside of the region, as well as in the handling of financial derivatives in the swaps markets. They have a track record of leading, mentoring and developing talent throughout the organization. The interns will be able to immerse themselves in the day-to-day operations of trading in a fast moving internationally recognized company.
Opportunities to Contribute
The interns will be responsible for assisting in the analysis of the Crude or Refined Oil Products space (LPG, Naphtha, Gasoline, Gasoil, Fuel Oil) in Asia. Their primary task will be to help to gather information on supply and demand, cargo movements/ship track for the above-mentioned products, collating the myriad of information into digestible charts for the traders to interpret. As a start, the interns will be helping to sieve through and organize large datasets before charting them out for traders to analyze. Interns will then progress to utilizing their coding knowledge (Python) to scrape as well as backtest Openweb data against price movements in order to help to generate trading ideas for the team. At a later stage in their internship, the interns will also own data gathering and entry for the Asia-Pacific Supply & Demand model and will be the key communicator to communicate the outputs effectively and timely to the Commercial Team. Lastly, on an adhoc basis, the interns should also be expected to utilize their coding skillset to scrape/collate/chart out new data sources for traders to analyze.
Requirements
• Strong analytical skills with experience in working with and manipulating large datasets.
• Proficient in Excel (Lookups/Index-Matching/Lookup Tables/VBA) and basic programming knowledge in Python (pandas, matplotlib, numpy etc.)
• Efficient time management skills and able to work under tight deadlines.
• Self-starter and able to work independently without close supervision.

Requirements:
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics or a related discipline
• Coding skills in Python / Javascript (Vue/ React)
• Predictive models studies using Machine Learning or modern regression techniques
• Flask, Mongo DB
• R, Simulation modelling
• Mobile App development experience
• UI/ UX experience
