On 18 March 2026, NUM iLAW organized a study visit to the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) to give students a closer look at one of Cambodia’s most important legal institutions.
As part of the program, students attended presentations on the background of the Khmer Rouge regime, the establishment and legal framework of the ECCC, and its jurisdiction and structure. They also visited several key places within the ECCC, including the courtroom and public gallery, the library, and the exhibition area. The visit gave students a valuable chance to connect what they learn in class with how legal institutions work in practice.
We sincerely thank the ECCC for the warm welcome, generous hospitality, and informative sessions shared with our students. The visit was both meaningful and inspiring, and it greatly contributed to our students’ learning experience.
