On the afternoon of 03 March 2026, Lect. Panha Norn, Member of the Moot Court Committee and an experienced coach in international commercial and contract moots, conducted an interview session for students applying to participate in this year 21st LAWASIA International Moot Competition. This interview session took place after careful review of each student submission of Student Expression of Interest.

This interview evaluated students based on their legal knowledge, critical thinking, and time management skills to ensure that the team selected to represent NUM iLAW are highly committed individual with a real passion for mooting.

On the evening of 7 March 2026, under the instruction of Mr. Rethda Rathanak, Deputy Director of NUM iLAW and Chairman of the NUM Moot Court Committee, the NUM Moot Court Committee convened an online meeting to deliberate on the following matters:

1). Nomination of the FDI Moot Team and Coach
2). Nomination of the LAWASIA Moot Team and Coach
3). Governance matters, including the scheduling of weekly and monthly meetings
4). Other matters arising during the meeting

The Committee noted that all applicants demonstrated commendable commitment, genuine enthusiasm for mooting, and strong potential throughout the selection process.

Following the conclusion of the Committee’s deliberations, the selected applicants will be contacted in due course regarding the outcome of their application.

On 8 March 2026, the Director, Deputy Director, lecturers, staff members, and students of the NUM International Program of Legal Studies (NUM iLAW) participated in the “Run for Education and Support Border Schools” event, held at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh under the theme “Solidarity for Education.”

The event brought together around 1,000 participants, including ministry leaders, athletes, civil servants, educators, youth volunteers, and members of the public, in a shared effort to raise funds and show solidarity for schools affected along the Cambodia–Thailand border. The programme was presided over by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, H.E. Hang Chuon Naron, and aimed to support the rebuilding of school infrastructure, improve educational conditions in affected areas, and assist teachers and education staff impacted by the recent conflict.

On the morning of 14 March 2026, the NUM Moot Court Committee conducted an orientation for the 7th NUM Moot Court Competition, chaired by Mr. Rethda Rathanak, Deputy Director of NUM iLAW and Chairman of the NUM Moot Court Committee.

The orientation aimed to provide participants with an overview of the competition, including the purpose of NUM Moot Court, the moot problem, the rules and criteria of the competition, and the expected outcomes of participation. The agenda also included a negotiation session, team arrangement, and closing activities to ensure that participants’ voices were heard and that the competition is responsive to their needs and support.

The Committee sincerely thanks all speakers, organizers, and participants for contributing to the success of the orientation and wishes all teams the very best in their mooting journey.
