Yo, what's good, builders? 🇪🇹⚡
Most of you probably know me from IVY, the offline AI tutor that went on to win the AWS Global Innovation Award, or from the hackathons, BBC feature, and other crazy stuff I've been building.
But that's just a fraction of what I'm working on.
I'm Natnael. Self-taught developer, founder, and someone who's been obsessed with building things since I was a kid writing C++ on paper because I didn't have a computer.
I've won 6 hackathons, built startups, broken things, shipped things, and learned an absurd amount along the way. And I'm nowhere near done.
So why this channel?
I want a place where I can share the raw side of building.
Not the polished LinkedIn bullshit. Not another channel recycling AI news.
I'm talking:
- AI, agents, LLMs, and experiments worth stealing.
- Actual projects, code, demos, and things I'm shipping.
- Hackathons, grants, opportunities, and how to win them.
- Failures, lessons, unpopular opinions, and occasional chaos.
- Startups, open source, and whatever insane idea I'm chasing next.
And more importantly, I want to see more Ethiopian developers building things the world can't ignore.
Geography shouldn't determine ambition.
I started with almost nothing. I'm still figuring shit out. But if there's one thing I've learned, it's that you don't need permission to build something extraordinary.
This isn't a motivational channel.
We're here to build. To ship. To win.
Welcome to my little corner of the internet.

I suck at presentations, so today I tried an experiment. We call this design engineering in AI engineering
I basically used the “show, don’t tell” method. My slides were so beautiful that I wanted to shift people’s attention from my speaking to the slides themselves.
And it worked.
A bunch of cool people came up to me asking for the slides.
I’m not a good public speaker, so I guess I’ll let my designs speak for me from now on.
Experiment #1: successful. 😂

A quick look at the website I’ve been building for our AI/ML students at AWS AASTU 👀
More than just a learning platform. It’s where the journey begins.
More to come!

I dont ever give up I would have to be dead or completely incapacitated @nrdnet
Elon Musk said this in an interview when he was asked if he ever thought about giving up after his third failure in a row.
Whatever people say about your work whatever bad feedback you get, don't give up. You haven't made it yet. You haven't achieved your goal yet so keep your head up and work for it.
At the end of the day, we are all going to die anyway, so why worry so much about what people think of you especially on social media?
Don't compare where you are today with where your friends are.
You never know everything they show you or every dream they sell you might be a lie.
Just compare yourself with who you were yesterday.

Dont be emotionally attached to your projects or products I learned that the hard way so learn from me. @nrdnet
Also dont test your product through your friends and your loved ones, test it through ppl who are not related to you that way you will get real feedbacks since they dont care about what u feel.
