🌏🇬🇦 #Gabon || General Nguema named Gabon's transitional leader after the coup

🔺 — General Brice Oligui Nguema, head of the coup and leader of Gabon's elite Republican Guard – the unit in charge of the president's security – has been named leader of the country's transition.

🔺 — Nguema is an influential figure in the country and it is believed that he is related to the deposed president and, more importantly, to the United States.

🔺 — “The president of the transition insists on the need to maintain calm and serenity in our beautiful country. At the dawn of a new era, we will guarantee the peace, stability and dignity of our beloved Gabon," said the military spokesman.

🔺 — The coup leaders also said that there would be a curfew from 6 in the afternoon until 6 in the morning.

🔺 — Interestingly, compared to the case of Niger, there is no condemnation of the coup in the West. No immediate sanctions, no threats. This simply confirms the suggestions that this is a pro-US coup.

🌏🇨🇬🪖 On the social networks of Congo-Brazzaville, the so-called "Republic of the Congo" - known for being one of the most stable countries in #CentralAfrica -, it is reported that, shortly after confirming that President Denis Sassou - N'Guesso arrived in #New_York City for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and the head of the Presidential Guard reportedly staged a coup against the government.

🔺 — It is worth noting that #Gabon, a country neighboring #Brazzaville, recently had a coup d'état in the same manner (i.e. led by the Presidential/Republican Guard).

🔺 — In the #CentralAfrican Republic there is a significant concentration of #PMC_Wagner fighters, who were recently seen during clashes and military clashes near the border with #Cameroon.

🔺#Congo_Kinshasa (former Zaire) Presidential elections will be held in three months, which could shape the region permanently.
