Leclerc requires a 'plan B' following comments from Elkann.
Ralf Schumacher suggests that Charles Leclerc should seriously think about alternatives as the internal issues at Ferrari continue to intensify. Speaking with Sky Deutschland, Schumacher expressed that John Elkann’s strong criticism—often viewed as directed mainly at Lewis Hamilton—should lead Leclerc to reevaluate his long-term prospects with the team.
"If I were Charles Leclerc, I’d certainly question what the purpose of this is," Schumacher stated. "He’s performing excellently, he’s personable, and he suits Ferrari well. I’d have my manager reach out to find out what’s happening. In situations like this, I’ve always had a backup plan, and I would recommend doing the same in his shoes."
He noted that Hamilton has not met Ferrari’s expectations.

Nael: I floored the gas pedal and only looked ahead!
Théophile Naël won the Macau Grand Prix, and his name will now be added to the long list of winners of this prestigious event, which a year ago was granted World Cup status by the FIA as a Formula Regional competition.
At one time this street race on the famous Guia Circuit, with a lap length of 6,120 m, was won by Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher, and in 2025, when it was held for the 72nd time, an 18‑year‑old Frenchman driving for the Irish team Pinnacle Motorsport distinguished himself.
He only took the lead in the closing laps, when he pulled off a very impressive double overtake: with that manoeuvre in the Lisboa corner he passed Enzo Deligny and his teammate Mari Boya at the same time.

Popov dismisses 'absurd' Antonelli record hype
Russian F1 commentator Alexey Popov has mocked the claims that Kimi Antonelli has "broken" Lewis Hamilton’s rookie-season points record, labeling the comparison as irrelevant. At Interlagos, the 19-year-old Mercedes rookie reached 122 points, surpassing seven-time world champion Hamilton’s rookie total of 109 points from 2007. However, Popov highlighted the fundamental difference in the points systems.
"My friends, are you out of your minds?" he remarked during a stream on The Lights Go Out. "Lewis earned 109 points when a win was worth 10 points. Now it’s worth 25!"
"I’m not undermining Kimi. He’s impressive, but..."
Antonelli currently ranks seventh in the world championship following Brazil, just behind his predecessor Hamilton, who is facing challenges in his first season at Ferrari.

F1 faces accusations of censoring jokes during the London launch event.
"It’s the individuals surrounding them who are anxious."
Comedian Jack Whitehall has exposed the strict oversight Formula 1 maintains over jokes and references at the sport’s prominent live launch event that took place earlier this year. On Chris Moyles’ Radio X show, Whitehall mentioned that his script for the London season launch was "heavily monitored" - so much so that even a light-hearted joke about George Russell needed direct consent from the Mercedes driver. "In that F1 show, I had a line where I compared him to the TikTok trainspotter," Whitehall shared. "My script was heavily monitored - everything was scrutinized. They insisted on no Bernie jokes and that Flavio Briatore not be mentioned. Everything got cut."
One mild joke about Russell managed to last for a short time - until Formula 1’s officials stepped in.

Audi clarifies that the F1 concept car is not the competitor for 2026.
"The basic geometry of the individual legality boxes is accurate."
Audi has sought to clarify any misunderstandings regarding the show car unveiled in Munich last week, as some observers speculated that the striking vehicle hinted at the final 2026 contender. According to Auto Motor und Sport, the displayed model was created based on the nearly finalized version of the FIA's 2026 technical regulations, known as the 'Fangio V13'. Audi F1 project leader Mattia Binotto cautioned against confusing it with the actual R26. "The basic geometry of the individual legality boxes is accurate, but our 2026 car will be markedly different from what was showcased," he stated. However, while the bodywork design was not indicative of the final product, the color scheme was.

Ecclestone suggests that Horner may return to Ferrari.
"It’s total chaos over there."
Bernie Ecclestone has dismissed the latest flurry of wild speculation connecting him - and ousted Red Bull boss Christian Horner - to a potential buy-in of Aston Martin. Blick reporter Roger Benoit, a long-time ally of Ecclestone, spent several days with the 95-year-old at his ranch in Amparo following the Brazilian GP, where the former F1 chief expressed disbelief over the rumors surrounding him. "How old do I have to become before these rumors about me finally cease?" Ecclestone quipped, after noticing an online montage of himself and Horner edited into Aston Martin's green.
Benoit reported that Ecclestone was presented with headlines claiming he and Horner were poised to invest in the Silverstone-based team — a notion he quickly rejected. "Another team I was supposed to buy with Horner," he remarked, puzzled.

Pirelli limited the distance for one set of tires.
Pirelli has decided to limit the distance that can be covered on a single set of tyres at the Qatar Grand Prix. The move was preliminarily agreed with the FIA and Formula 1.
At the Losail circuit no more than 25 laps may be completed on each set of tyres. The decision was taken because the Qatar track subjects the tyres to increased loads related to overloading and temperature, which leads to increased wear.
The 25-lap limit will be counted cumulatively for the whole session, including laps behind the actual or virtual safety car. Laps to the starting grid, formation laps and laps after the chequered flag in the sprint and race will not be counted.
Since the Qatar Grand Prix distance is 57 laps, each driver will have to change tyres at least twice. Before the start of the race Pirelli will inform the teams how many laps remain to be run on each set.

Like many, we appreciate V8-powered wagons. The Audi RS6 is undeniably impressive (even if it weighs as much as a small train), and we’re encouraged by Audi’s recent indications that this formula will continue. Even more exciting are the fresh spy shots of the German powerhouse’s successor.
As if that wasn't exciting enough, our spies have shared more promising news this morning: the RS6 wagon isn’t the only variant returning for 2027; the sedan will be back as well! As a proud member of the sport sedan community (and a Cadillac owner), I’m particularly excited about this development.

Bernie Ecclestone has long since stepped back from Formula 1 affairs but continues to closely follow events in the championship. Recently he commented on rumours that he might become a co-owner of the Aston Martin team together with Christian Horner.
"How old do I have to be for the rumours about me to finally stop?" joked the former head of Formula 1 management. "It turns out Aston Martin is yet another team I'm buying together with Horner. But didn't technical genius Adrian Newey leave Red Bull for Aston Martin just so he wouldn't have to work with Horner anymore?"
However, Bernie found a new job for Christian Horner: "I wouldn't rule out him moving to Ferrari! It's a complete mess there right now, and the boss John Elkann is now even insulting both of the team's drivers."

Max Verstappen offered advice to McLaren's management.
McLaren is having one of the best seasons in its history this year: the team clinched the constructors' title early, its drivers occupy the top two positions in the drivers' standings, and there is a strong chance the title will go to either Lando Norris or Oscar Piastri. While the Australian led through the first three quarters of the season, Norris moved ahead in the final stage of the championship and has been performing very confidently lately.
Only Max Verstappen can stop the McLaren duo; since the Italian Grand Prix he has scored more points than Norris. The Red Bull Racing driver, speaking on the Brazilian podcast Pelas Pistas, gave his own take on what is happening in the world championship. His words could be read as hints about several teams, but he spoke specifically about the situation at McLaren.

Joseph Kosinski is ready to work on a sequel to the film F1.
The film F1 The Movie, released in theaters worldwide in the summer of 2025, was commercially successful and warmly received by audiences. The worldwide box office for the picture starring Brad Pitt exceeded $631 million, so it’s no surprise that almost immediately after its release talks began about filming a second installment, although Lewis Hamilton, one of the producers, denied such a possibility.
Variety was the first to report on the possible filming of a sequel, and the Financial Times even wrote that Apple is considering creating a full-fledged franchise.
F1 The Movie director Joseph Kosinski poured fuel on the fire, telling Variety in a recent interview that the parties are discussing the possibility of filming a second installment about the adventures of Sonny Hayes and the APX GP team.

Ayo Komatsu: We can compete on any track.
The American Haas F1 team is preparing for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, which it also considers a home race, as it does the rounds in Miami and Austin. Esteban Ocon took part in both Grands Prix already held on the new street circuit, then as an Alpine driver, while Oliver Bearman will get to know it for the first time. The team hopes to continue its run of strong performances, as it is only two points behind Aston Martin, which sits sixth in the Constructors' Championship.
Ayo Komatsu, team principal: “We head to Vegas after the Brazilian round, where the team once again delivered a good result. The team is on the up, and we know what we are fighting for. There are three races to go, and our mindset remains the same: we intend to attack at all of these circuits, but we set objectives for each round individually.

Sauber wants to score points with both cars in Las Vegas.
The Sauber team scored points in three Grands Prix in a row — through the efforts of Nico Hülkenberg in Austin and São Paulo, and of Gabriel Bortoleto in Mexico. For the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix, Sauber's goal is to finish in the top ten with both cars.
Jonathan Wheatley, team principal: "The round in Las Vegas means we're back on a street circuit after several events at permanent race tracks. The team has shown good consistency over a number of recent rounds, returning to the fight for points. Now all our focus is on maintaining this form over the three final races of the season, because the battle in the Constructors' Championship is getting ever more intense.

Organizers of the Las Vegas Grand Prix believe the upcoming Grand Prix will help reverse a recent trend: the number of foreign visitors wanting to come to the city has been gradually declining.
Emily Preiser, president and chief executive officer of Las Vegas Grand Prix Inc., who also serves as Formula 1’s chief commercial officer, expects up to 100,000 spectators on each of the three days of the race weekend, which broadly matches the figures from the previous two years.
The crowd will primarily be from neighboring states, California and Arizona, but there is also growing interest from countries such as Mexico and Canada, and an increasing influx of European fans.
But as Formula 1 becomes more popular within the United States itself, organizers of the upcoming race are trying to strike a balance between the number of local attendees and overseas guests. This year the ratio should be roughly 60/40.
“If you want to increase the flow of foreign tourists to Las Vegas, we believe we are currently in the most favorable position in that regard,” Preiser is quoted as saying by the Las Vegas Sun. “We are working for a very broad audience and sincerely believe that we will be able to offer something to everyone during the upcoming weekend.”
The paper also cites statistics showing that in the first nine months of 2025 Las Vegas was visited by 2.5 million fewer tourists than in the same period of 2024, meaning a decline of 13.5% by that measure.
This trend is explained by many factors, including fewer people wanting to visit the U.S. because of President Trump’s immigration policies, tariffs, and higher visa fees. In addition, many tourists who have already been to Las Vegas complain about excessively high prices for food, entertainment, and ancillary hotel services.
But organizers of the Las Vegas Grand Prix do not find that these factors are significantly affecting ticket sales.
“Canada and Mexico are huge markets for us, and we don’t see ticket sales falling, so we believe everything is on track, and we expected the trajectory to be exactly this,” Preiser emphasized.
According to her, tickets are selling faster this year than in 2024, with grandstand entry on a practice day starting at $125 and race tickets starting at $750.
Las Vegas is also trying to attract additional attention by hosting a golf tournament featuring Formula 1 stars and organizing special tours for local young fans, who have also been promised meet-and-greets with drivers.

Williams has unveiled the liveries for Carlos Sainz’s and Alex Albon’s cars for the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Most of the FW47 will be painted glossy black in honor of Rovo — the new generative-AI-based product from the team’s title sponsor, Atlassian. Williams say the new livery is intended to accentuate the brightness of the Las Vegas lights, as well as the speed and power of Rovo.
James Vowles, team principal: "This striking livery is another example of our collaboration with Atlassian, who are helping to accelerate our technological transformation and bring Williams back to a leading position. There is no more iconic place to unveil it than Las Vegas — one of the most technologically advanced cities in the world."
This is not the first time Williams has changed its cars' livery for individual Grands Prix. In Austin the FW47s were presented in the historic blue-and-white color scheme of 2002 to mark the collaboration with Atlassian, and in São Paulo the cars were repainted in the sponsor colors of the oil company Gulf.

Oscar Piastri’s first significant sporting achievement was winning the Australian championship in radio-controlled car racing — he won that title in 2010, when he was nine years old.
The McLaren driver has just been reminded of it, and the helmet he will race in Las Vegas is painted in the same color scheme as that championship car.
“I present to you my new helmet, but don’t worry, there won’t be a little car on it!” Oscar commented cheerfully. “However, the helmet is dedicated to it, because that was the paintwork on the body of the car with which I won the Australian national championship in 2010.
Why will I race in that helmet in Vegas? Because it will be exactly 15 years since that weekend. It brings back special memories for me, as that was my first success, and the helmet is designed in honor of that event. I hope you like it. It looks quite original, but I think it’s really cool!”

In an interview with The Telegraph, McLaren Racing boss Zak Brown once again spoke about his relationship with former Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner...
Zak Brown: "I've known Christian for more than thirty years. We used to get on well. He's achieved amazing results. I respect his achievements, but over the years he's changed. The recognition after the Drive to Survive series, the money, the fame — all of that became too much for him.
In sport he hasn't always played fair. Back when I raced there were drivers who pushed to the limit, forcing rivals onto two wheels off the track. That's fine. But some drivers push you onto all four wheels. And that's not okay. I'm the kind of person who likes to race wheel-to-wheel, but Christian prefers to knock you onto all four wheels.
Once he made accusations against our team. I can't imagine he really believed them. He did it simply to disrupt us. In our sport everyone understands that such accusations aren't connected to any technical violations."

Claire Williams supports McLaren's approach.
Claire Williams, the former deputy team principal of Williams and the daughter of the team's founder Frank Williams, supports McLaren's approach, which seeks to provide equal opportunities for its drivers…
Claire Williams: "Finding an approach to two strong drivers is very difficult. Lando and Oscar have spent many years preparing, have worked for a long time to be able to fight for a Formula 1 title, and dreamed of becoming world champions. And now they are fighting for that title against each other.
Before a Grand Prix you can plan anything you like, but the race can sometimes throw up surprises. You need to discuss all the details with the drivers in advance so there is no misunderstanding, but you never know what will happen when the starting lights go out.
