Although neither company frequently discusses it publicly, the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX are essentially midsize GM electric SUVs in stylish disguises. Beneath their badge-engineered surfaces, they are fundamentally the same vehicles as the Chevy Blazer EV and Cadillac Lyriq. Interestingly, despite being released later and distributed through a smaller dealer network, Honda’s models are somehow outperforming the vehicles they are based on in sales.

The Q2 statistics reveal the complete picture. Honda dealers have sold over 16,000 Prologues this year, while Chevy has recorded fewer than 13,000 Blazer EV sales. Notably, Chevrolet operates nearly 3,000 dealerships across the U.S.
Ferrari announced the extension of a multi-year contract with Antonio Giovinazzi. The Italian driver will continue racing for AF Corse in the World Endurance Championship and will concurrently serve as the team's reserve driver in Formula 1.
Antonio Giovinazzi: "Eight years ago, I began my collaboration with Ferrari, which is more than just a team to me – they are my family. Today's contract extension means I will continue to accept the challenge that motivates me every day to work in an environment where people, teamwork, and ambitions are important.
As an official driver in WEC and the third driver in Formula 1, I am taking on commitments that I am honored and excited about. I am grateful to Ferrari for their belief in me – progressing professionally in the colors of this team is something special.
I can't wait for the next chapters of this story, which I will start with dedication, passion, and a desire for results – all these elements have always been a part of me."
Pirelli began a two-day test of 2026 prototype tires today at Silverstone with Aston Martin and Sauber, providing specially developed cars, engineers, and drivers.
On the first day, tire engineers focused on comparing tire construction options before their homologation, scheduled for September 1.
Felipe Drugovich completed 112 laps in the Aston Martin AMR25 with the best time of 1:30.119, while Gabriel Bortoleto completed 110 laps in the Sauber C45 with the best time of 1:31.341.
The tests will continue tomorrow – the young Brazilian from Sauber will stay, and Lance Stroll will drive the Aston Martin.
In 2018, Wolff struck Raikkonen while defending Russell.
In an interview with ORF, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff recalled an interesting story that took place at the FIA Gala in Saint Petersburg in 2018.
Kimi Räikkönen then finished the Formula 1 season in the top three and attended the awards ceremony for the season held in Russia.
The ceremony took place in the evening, and the Finnish Ferrari driver was intoxicated. Behind the scenes, he insulted George Russell, who had become the Formula 2 champion that year.
Defending his young driver, Wolff took matters into his own hands.
Toto Wolff: "The situation was quite awkward, but that’s how it was. I grew up in a tough environment where sometimes you had to defend yourself.
We were in Saint Petersburg at the awards ceremony, and the Formula 1 driver insulted George, even though he had won Formula 2. I had to slap him, and that was the end of it.
Steve Riley on working as an IT specialist in Formula 1
In an interview with Computerweekly, Mercedes F1 IT department head Steve Ralegh spoke about the specifics of his work...

Steve Ralegh: "Like any other function, IT plays its role in the team's success. Some aspects are more obvious than our contribution in other areas, but every component of the car is produced on the platform we've developed.
To those who join us, we always say: 'Don't think that in the IT department you don’t have a direct impact on the race outcome. Part of your work might be dedicated to this weekend’s race, and part might be focused on the future, ensuring results in 12 months.
If you have professionalism and passion, why not try to combine these two things? I've been here for almost 10 years, and I must say that time flies faster in the team than anywhere else.

When Rivian initially introduced its quad-motor electric R1T pickup, early users encountered an unfortunate issue: the truck wore out tires at an excessive rate when operated in its eco “Conserve” mode. I’ll explain why this happened, but today’s big news is that Rivian has redesigned the system in the second-generation 2026 R1T and R1S Quads to alleviate this problem, at least for the new models.

Similar to its 360-degree kick turn, the latest Quads feature both mechanical and software modifications that enable this improvement, meaning the less destructive Conserve mode won’t be available to existing vehicles through an over-the-air update.
TuxMat Floor Mats Made This Honda Civic Feel Like Luxury Transportation
This post is presented by TuxMat.

At some point in life, you may feel the urge to elevate your lifestyle and indulge in some luxurious items. However, splurging on significant purchases like an upgraded living space or a fancier car can be overwhelming. That’s where I appreciate enhancements like TuxMat floor mats. For the cost of a new outfit, you can upgrade your car significantly and meaningfully, making each drive a more enjoyable experience.

Visit the TuxMat catalog to explore the options available for your vehicle’s make and model.

Floor mats may seem like minor details in your car’s interior design. If you’re using standard factory mats or generic ones you found at an auto parts store, they're probably not something you think about often.
Former Formula 2 champion Felipe Drugovich will make his debut in Formula E this week with Mahindra, replacing Nick de Vries, who is busy with endurance racing.
Drugovich successfully completed tests, covering the required distance, and is well acquainted with the Berlin circuit, where he participated in the last two rookie tests of Formula E.
Drugovich's teammate will be Mahindra Racing's regular driver Edoardo Mortara.
Felipe Drugovich: "I am glad to confirm that I will debut in Formula E with Mahindra Racing in Berlin. It’s great to have the opportunity to race after a few tests."
Ben Sulaim: I will never be anyone's puppet.
Last week, Tim Mayer announced his intention to run for the position of FIA President. At the press conference dedicated to his candidacy, he heavily criticized the current federation head, Mohammed ben Sulayem. In Silverstone, the FIA President was asked to comment on the words of his future election opponent.
"Public criticism of me doesn't bother me," said Mohammed ben Sulayem. "Some people have nothing to do with FIA, and during elections, their words are completely spineless. They can say whatever they want to earn votes from electors.
Let me ask you: have you ever read even one article where I spoke badly about someone? No, thank you. That's simply not my style. My approach is to communicate with federation members, listen to them, and trust them. That's the only way.
Red Bull Racing employees were notified that Christian Horner has left his position as team principal as of today. He will be replaced by former Racing Bulls executive Laurent Mekis.
Horner's contract stipulated his role as team principal until 2030, but a decision was made for him to leave immediately and depart from the company.
A few hours after Horner's resignation was announced without explanation, Red Bull Racing's press service issued a brief official statement.
"After 20 years with the team, Christian Horner is leaving his role as team principal and CEO of Oracle Red Bull Racing.
We thank him for his tireless and exceptional work. He played a key role in transforming this team into one of the most successful in Formula 1, winning eight drivers’ championships and six constructors’ trophies.
Thank you for everything, Christian, you will always remain an important part of our team's history," the official statement said.
Racing Bulls officially confirmed management changes following news of Christian Horner's departure from Red Bull Racing. Laurent Mekies, who led the Faenza team, has taken Horner's position as the CEO of Red Bull Racing. Alan Permain, who until today served as Sporting Director of Racing Bulls, has become the new team principal. Laurent Mekies: "The last year and a half have been a true privilege for me to lead the team alongside Peter Bayer. I was able to contribute to the birth of Racing Bulls together with all our talented staff. The team has incredible team spirit, and I firmly believe this is just the beginning." Alan Permain: "It is a great honor for me to take on the role of team principal, and I want to thank Oliver Mintslaff and Helmut Marko for their trust. I look forward to continuing the development of the team with Peter Bayer. This is a new challenge for me, but I know I can count on the support of all the staff."
Horner's dismissal is a consequence of losing the power struggle.
The decision by the Red Bull corporation to immediately fire Christian Horner from his position as Red Bull Racing team principal shocked the racing world. Even more questions were raised by the fact that the company did not explain the motives behind the decision. However, Sky Sports' British correspondent Craig Slater believes that Horner's dismissal resulted from a power struggle within Red Bull.

"When it comes to the reasons for Horner's departure from Red Bull, it is necessary to recall the disagreements that have existed within the team in recent years," Slater said in a news segment on Sky Sports. "Partly, this is related to the composition of the shareholders. 49% of Red Bull is owned by the Mateschitz family, specifically his son Mark.
The European press continues to discuss the dismissal of Christian Horner from his role as head of Red Bull Racing. One version suggests that the reason for his dismissal was the Austrian management's desire to retain Max Verstappen. German F1-Insider reports that, according to their information, the reigning world champion stated that Horner's dismissal was a prerequisite for him to stay at Red Bull Racing beyond 2025. Knowing that the Verstappen family, especially Jos, had tense relations with Horner, such a demand from Max was quite possible. However, Verstappen's manager, Raymond Vermeulen, told Dutch De Telegraaf that he was not aware of the reasons behind Christian Horner's dismissal. "The Red Bull management informed us of the decision in advance," Vermeulen said. "Red Bull should provide additional explanations for the reasons. As for us, we continue to analyze sporting results and strive for greater efficiency to return to the top. Nothing has changed in this regard."
Ferrari needs to 'pay attention' to Hamilton's counsel, according to a report.
Frederic Vasseur is "truly the right person" to remain at the helm of Ferrari. This perspective comes from newcomer Lewis Hamilton, who, despite facing challenges in adjusting to his new red car, is encouraging Ferrari to consider the future. "Those who want instant results don’t understand how F1 operates," stated La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Gianluca Gasparini following the British GP. Ferrari recently revealed a new floor for their struggling 2025 car and is organizing a 'filming' day at Mugello on July 16 in preparation for the introduction of new rear suspension at Spa-Francorchamps.

However, Hamilton will not be present at Mugello, as he is urging Ferrari to shift focus from 2025 and instead develop a car for 2026 that aligns with his own "DNA.
Two leading teams were close to signing Nico Hulkenberg.
Nico Hulkenberg came close to racing for both Red Bull and Ferrari. The only active Formula 1 drivers older than the 37-year-old German are Lewis Hamilton, the 40-year-old seven-time world champion, and Fernando Alonso, the 43-year-old two-time title winner. In a contrast, Hulkenberg finally reached the podium for the very first time at Silverstone last Sunday, despite having participated in nearly 250 grands prix.

"For me, his performances place him among the top five drivers in Formula 1," remarked Red Bull advisor Dr. Helmut Marko. "He consistently outperforms drivers who have a significant material advantage over him," he stated to Sport Bild. "One can only respect Nico. The podium was long overdue.
Horner dismissed, Mekies steps in at Red Bull Racing.
Permane elevated to Team Principal at Racing Bulls

Effective immediately, Laurent Mekies will assume the role of CEO at Red Bull Racing. As part of this transition, Alan Permane, who is currently the Racing Director, will be promoted to Team Principal at Racing Bulls.

"Red Bull has relieved Christian Horner of his operational responsibilities starting today and has appointed Laurent Mekies as CEO of Red Bull Racing," stated Red Bull GmbH in a Wednesday announcement.

Oliver Mintzlaff, Red Bull's chief executive of corporate projects and investments, expressed gratitude: "We extend our thanks to Christian Horner for his outstanding contributions over the past two decades. His relentless dedication, knowledge, expertise, and innovative ideas have played a key role in establishing Red Bull Racing as one of the most successful and appealing teams in Formula 1.
Some details about Christian Horner's dismissal from Red Bull Racing have become known to the British channel Sky Sports. It turned out that the decision was made the day before, and it was communicated to Horner and the team's key partners at that time.
"Everyone at the Milton Keynes base is in shock," Sky Sports correspondent Craig Slater said in the news broadcast. "The decision was made yesterday by the Red Bull board of directors – two shareholders. Christian Horner was informed of it yesterday, and key partners and sponsors in the evening.
This morning, Horner arrived at the base and addressed the team staff at 10:00 am British time. Around 11:25 am, he left the base.
Employees are not commenting. The Red Bull office in Salzburg is handling this matter. As far as I know, two other senior executives closely linked to Horner have also left Red Bull."
Oliver Mintzlaff, responsible for all advertising activities of the Austrian energy drink manufacturer Red Bull, thanked the dismissed Christian Horner for his work as head of the Red Bull Racing team since 2005.
Oliver Mintzlaff, Red Bull’s Chief Executive Officer for corporate projects and investments: "We want to thank Christian Horner for his outstanding work over the past 20 years.
Thanks to his tireless dedication, experience, professionalism, and innovative thinking, he played a key role in transforming Red Bull Racing into one of the most successful and attractive Formula 1 teams.
Thank you for everything, Christian. You will always remain an important part of our team’s history."
Red Bull has not officially disclosed the reason for Christian Horner’s dismissal.
The dismissal of team leader Christian Horner came as a surprise to everyone, including Christian himself, who dedicated twenty years to the team. Former driver and Sky Sports commentator Martin Brundle stated this on air...
Martin Brundle: "I asked Christian, 'Can we talk before I have to go on television?' because I wanted to learn more about what happened from his perspective.
He told me he was not informed of the reason for his dismissal, and that is the only reliable information I have.
Honestly, I am very sad. I consider Christian a friend, and over these twenty years, he has done incredible work, winning a huge number of races and championships.
This team has gone through a tough journey from Stewart through problematic Jaguar to the massive campus in Milton Keynes, incredible success, and a huge hall of trophies. But it wasn’t hard to see and hear in the paddock that things weren’t exactly rosy."
Chandhok: Horner may continue his career at Alpine
After discussing Christian Horner's unexpected dismissal from Red Bull Racing, experts began to consider potential career options for the British specialist. Former Formula 1 driver Karun Chandhok suggested that Horner might continue his career at Alpine.
Karun Chandhok: "We shouldn't underestimate Christian's contribution to Red Bull, as he undoubtedly did a fantastic job for the team. He has been in the very heart of Formula 1 for over 20 years, and he hasn't missed a Red Bull race.
A lot of time has passed, so perhaps he needed a short break. Could Christian move to Ferrari? There were many rumors that they tried several times to hire Horner, but it didn't happen. Personally, I don't think he'll go to Ferrari.
Could he end up at Alpine? From the perspective that, in this scenario, he could stay living in the UK, yes.
Max Verstappen commented on the dismissal of Christian Horner from his position as team principal of Red Bull Racing.
The reigning world champion posted a short message on social media, thanking his former boss.
"Since my first race win and through four championship titles, we have experienced incredible success together," Max Verstappen wrote. "We have won memorable races and set countless records. Thanks for everything, Christian!"
