Alex Elbon: I am satisfied with how we worked together.
At Silverstone, only Alex Albon scored points for Williams, as his teammate Carlos Sainz finished 12th…
Alex Albon (8th): "I'm pleased with how we performed. We found the right balance between risk and caution, able to recover after Saturday's issues. The car was fast closer to the finish, and in the last lap, I was able to overtake Alonso.
I really enjoyed racing here in the rain, when the dry line is very narrow and there's no room for mistakes. This weekend, we gathered a lot of useful data that will help us solve the problems before the Spa race."
Carlos Sainz (12th): "I avoided problems, managed the tires properly, and showed good pace. Unfortunately, near the end, when I was about to overtake Leclerc, he lost control of his car in Turn 15, crossed the track, and hit my car.
Mario Isola: The spectators had a great time.
Pirelli is satisfied with how the tires handled the challenging British weather…
Mario Isola, Pirelli Motorsport Director: "It's hard to imagine a better way to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Formula 1 than last weekend. I think the half a million people who attended Silverstone over four days had a great time, despite today's rain! Yesterday's qualifying was unpredictable, just like today's race. Congratulations to McLaren on the hat-trick and to Nico Hülkenberg on his first podium in Formula 1. Well-deserved result!
As in previous years, four out of five available tire types were used during the race. It's a pity we didn't see the full performance of the wet weather tires – it would have been interesting to evaluate their effectiveness alongside the intermediates, which looked really impressive today, performing well both in standing water and on nearly dry asphalt.
Double slip racing Bulls at Silverstone
Both Racing Bulls drivers failed to finish at Silverstone due to accidents…
Isaac Hadjar (DNF): "Racing in such challenging conditions always involves some risk. After the start, I was pushing behind Charles at a good pace; we used the same strategy, but it turned out to be the wrong one.
During the safety car period, I could hardly see due to spray, and the tire temperatures dropped. On the restart, I wanted to have a bit more margin, but when I saw the red signal on Kimi's rear, it was already too late – visibility was zero. Fortunately, I am okay and looking forward to the race at Spa."
Liam Lawson (DNF): "Unfortunately, my race ended early due to an incident. We chose the right tires and had a good start, so it's a pity that we couldn't show the car's potential.
Before the start of the British Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso sympathized with the fans soaked in the stands...
Fernando Alonso: "What weather! I feel sorry for the fans in the stands, but I hope they see an exciting race with many pit stops due to the changing weather and unexpected results. We'll see how it all unfolds, but with such weather, we might have additional opportunities. I’ll be happy if we finish in the top seven."
Lewis Hamilton has won at Silverstone nine times, but today he admitted that winning this weekend will not be easy...
Lewis Hamilton: "I'm in a great mood; I always feel incredibly happy to meet with my British fans, and today I see for the first time that many of them are in red! It's actually only the second time I will be driving a Ferrari on a wet track, but I hope the SF-25 performs more effectively this weekend. Of course, that remains to be seen.
Definitely, I hope the day goes well, and I love racing in the rain, so I enjoy this kind of weather. Before a hometown race weekend, I always get nervous because it's the weekend I want to succeed the most. This is my favorite Grand Prix, and I would like to see two British races on the championship calendar."
Pierre Gasly starts eighth at Silverstone and hopes to gain several positions...
Pierre Gasly: "It's very British weather, so it's hard to say what to expect in the race. We will try to do everything we can in such extreme conditions. I was hoping for rain, so I won't complain, as such weather offers more opportunities. I think the fans will enjoy it.
We prepared for problems this weekend, but I managed to have a great qualifying. I hope to repeat that today, so I am looking forward to the race."
Ahead of the British Grand Prix, the Pirelli press service published information about the remaining tire sets for the drivers.

Oscar Piastre starts second at Silverstone and aims for victory...
Oscar Piastre: "In such weather, I’m in shorts – I must admit, I’ve made even better decisions in my life! (laughs) It would be nice to win the British Grand Prix, although, of course, I try to win every race, and since yesterday went well, let's hope it will be the same today, especially since we start from a good position.
Silverstone is such a circuit where you always want to achieve success, and I hope the rain stops because otherwise the track conditions will be very challenging. But obviously, the start will be on a wet track.
We'll see what happens, but I think at some stage in everyone's career, we've all raced at Silverstone in the rain, so this experience is shared by all."
On Saturday, Oliver Berman achieved his best career qualifying result but was penalized, and today he will try to make up for it...
Oliver Berman: "This is my first British Grand Prix, in which I am participating as a Formula 1 driver, and I wish the weather were better. However, it's a typical British Sunday, and I am overwhelmed with emotions. The fans here are fantastic, and I simply hope for a good and exciting race.
Anyway, I'm even glad it's raining because, due to the penalty I received yesterday, I start from 18th position, but I believe that in such weather we have a chance to reach the top ten. I hope I can make a few good overtakes today!"
Before the start, Lando Norris gave an interview in front of a packed grandstand named after him...
Lando Norris: "The weather is terrible, so I feel a bit sorry for the fans, but it's incredibly great to see full grandstands. The sun will definitely come out, and I'm excited for the race. We've put a lot of effort into preparing for the British Grand Prix, and I'm grateful to everyone who came to cheer me on despite the typically English weather.
Let's see how everything turns out; I'm fully motivated, and we plan to put on a great show for the fans. I intend to overtake a few cars, and with such weather, the chances to move forward are definitely there. The race promises to be fun, and I'll try to fight for the win to bring joy to the fans!
But I also want to enjoy it, including from good overtakes. Let's just say: I deliberately showed the third result in qualifying to entertain the audience with overtakes!"
UK GP: Norris - Piastri - Hulkenberg
Cloudy. Occasionally raining. Air 18°C, track 26…23°C
The Silverstone round was the twelfth in the calendar and marked the end of the first half of the season. The balance of power had long become clear, yet almost every race held surprises. Teams improved their cars, circuits, conditions, and weather varied. The last season before the regulation change turned out to be interesting and unpredictable. Before the start at Silverstone, hardly anyone could confidently name the winner.
In the four sessions held before the race, four drivers led—Hamilton and Norris on Friday, Leclerc on Saturday morning, while Verstappen took pole position.
Verstappen and Piastri started from the front row, Norris and Russell from the second, Hamilton and Leclerc from the third.
Two drivers lost positions on the starting grid due to penalties.
Lando Norris: Everything I've dreamed of has come true!
Lando Norris and his fans' dream came true: he added a victory at the British Grand Prix to his list of achievements...
Lando Norris (1st): "This is wonderful! Everything I've dreamed of has come true! In terms of feelings and pride, this achievement can only be compared to winning a championship.
My career started at Silverstone, and now I’ve managed to shine here too. The race was incredible, as always very tense, and thanks to all the fans – their support really helped me today!
Right now, I just feel empty inside. Everything I could think of before the start, I’ve already forgotten during the race. The main thing was not to miss out on the victory, that’s rule number one.
In the last laps, I was already looking at the crowd in the stands. I was just trying to remember all this, enjoy the moment because it may never happen again.
During the race at Silverstone, two drivers received 10-second penalties from the stewards – Yuki Tsunoda was deemed responsible for the collision with Oliver Berman, and Oscar Piastre violated safety car rules by braking too sharply before the restart.
The rules require that in such a situation, "the car must move at a speed that does not involve abrupt braking or other maneuvers that could endanger other drivers from the moment the safety car lights go out."
In addition to the 10-second penalties, both drivers received penalty points – Oscar received two (now he has 6 points over 12 months), and Yuki received one (he now has 5 points over 12 months).
Nico Hülkenberg: I don't quite understand how this happened.
Nico Hülkenberg finished third at Silverstone and stood on the podium for the first time in his career. The German driver needed 239 Grand Prix to achieve this. For Sauber, the podium was their first since the Japanese Grand Prix of 2012.
Gabriele Bortolotti failed to finish, crashing his car on the third lap. Thanks to Hülkenberg's result, Sauber moved up to sixth place in the Constructors' Championship.
Nico Hülkenberg (3rd): "Feeling great. It’s been a long journey, agree? But I always knew I’d make it.
What a race! I started basically at the back, and it all feels pretty surreal. I don’t quite understand how it happened, but obviously, the crazy weather conditions played their part. Most of the race became a battle for survival.

Andrea Stella: We are satisfied and have something to celebrate.
Andrea Stella commented on McLaren's another winning double, especially valuable because it all took place at Silverstone, the home race for Lando Norris and the entire Woking team.
"First of all, congratulations to the entire team, including everyone who worked on the pit wall today," emphasized McLaren Racing's boss. "Today, everyone acted very correctly and precisely, making the right decisions alongside the drivers despite difficult circumstances, and we managed to avoid trouble.
Oscar Piastri started very aggressively, rightly taking the lead, but unfortunately, he was penalized later, which prevented him from winning the race. However, Lando inherited the victory, so today is a very special day for him because he won his home race. Overall, we are satisfied and have something to celebrate.
Pierre Gasly: We took risks, and this approach paid off.
Pierre Gasly finished sixth at Silverstone, and this is currently the best result for the Alpine F1 team this season. Meanwhile, Franco Colapinto, his Argentine teammate, was unable to participate in the race at all – his car failed him even before the start.
Pierre Gasly (6th): "This is a fantastic result for the entire team. I don't think we expected to finish in this position after the practice sessions, so I have to give credit to everyone for their efforts this weekend. Especially satisfying that it happened at Silverstone, our home race, which many team members followed from the grandstands at the circuit.
This will give everyone extra motivation, so I am very pleased. On the track, we had interesting battles with drivers we don't usually fight with — for example, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, and Max Verstappen. Overall, it was fun.
Komatsu: Our drivers should not collide.
The Haas team did not score any points at the British Grand Prix, although in the final laps Oliver Berman attempted to attack George Russell for tenth place, but without success. Esteban Ocon finished thirteenth after a collision with his teammate. After the race at Silverstone, Haas dropped to ninth place in the Constructors' Championship.
Oliver Berman (11th): "It was a tough race. We switched to slick tires in the early laps, but now we realize that was the wrong decision given the approaching rain. I lost a lot of time during the race.
At one point, my car spun after contact, but after all that, I fought for points and finished eleventh, which is disappointing. We were fast this weekend, so it's a pity it ended that way.
Conditions were difficult, there was only one dry line on the track, so I couldn’t overtake Russell in the final laps.
Lewis Hamilton: I feel this car better and better
At Silverstone, only Lewis Hamilton scored points for Ferrari, finishing fourth...
Frederic Vasseur, team principal: "A chaotic race for everyone from start to finish, although it surely pleased the fans. Conditions changed so often that it was difficult to choose the right tires, and the frequent safety car deployments complicated assessing the potential developments.
After the race, it always seems that a more optimal strategy could have been used. Charles's decision to switch to slicks right at the start was bold. Things could have turned out differently if it had worked.
Clearly, the McLaren cars are much faster, but today we scored more points than Mercedes and Red Bull – which is positive, as is the fact that in qualifying we were competitive right up to the final.
Russell: That's not how I wanted to run my home race.
The Mercedes team had an unsuccessful British Grand Prix: George Russell finished tenth, earning at least one championship point. Meanwhile, his young teammate Kimi Antonelli dropped out due to damage sustained to his car after Isaac Hadjar rear-ended him in very poor visibility conditions.
George Russell (10th): "In conditions like today, it's always difficult to make the right decisions, but unfortunately, we weren't successful. After the warm-up lap, we decided to switch to hard slicks, and then there was no rain for 25 minutes, which should have allowed us to gain a decent advantage. Unfortunately, for 15 minutes, we drove around the track in Virtual Safety Car (VSC) mode.
As soon as the race resumed, we gained a few seconds each lap, but the gap was already too big.
