McLaren have extended the contract of Peter Prodromou
Team McLaren shared the news about the extension of the contract with Peter Prodromou, technical director, responsible for everything related to aerodynamics. Like previous agreements between the parties, the new contract has a long-term character. Prodromou received this position in March 2023 and was one of the key specialists, whose efforts contributed to the team's winning the Constructors Cup at the end of last year's season. He first came to McLaren back in 1991, after which he became one of the leading specialists in aerodynamics among all teams in Formula 1. After a period of success with Red Bull Racing, Peter returned to McLaren in 2014 to become chief engineer. McLaren Racing have extended the long-term contracts of both drivers, Andrea Stella, team principal, as well as a number of other key personnel in 2024.

James Vowles, Team Principal: "I am delighted to welcome Atlassian to Formula 1 and our transformation into Atlassian Williams Racing. Bringing in such a large company as title sponsor is a significant day in our history and an important milestone in the team's transformation and return to the top of the ranks. We are putting the pieces in place to get back to the top. Thanks to Atlassian, we have the technology and tools to help us unlock potential, improve teamwork and collaboration for all employees. Our values and ambitions are perfectly aligned, and I can't wait to see what we accomplish together.
Bottas' good joke amused the fans
The other day Valtteri Bottas, now a reserve pilot of Mercedes, together with the team took part in a solemn presentation dedicated to the beginning of cooperation with Adidas. The program also included various interesting activities, including racers of the team on special machines themselves printed on branded T-shirts pictures and inscriptions.
When it was Valtteri's turn and he took up the task, the Adidas employee said that the process of putting a print on a T-shirt lasts about 30 seconds. And then he with a very sly expression on his face and the appropriate intonations said a phrase that caused a funny reaction from others and which was appreciated by fans who put tens of thousands of smiley faces in social networks. Bottas said: "It's still faster than some of my pit stops.
General Motors continues to prepare for its Formula 1 debut with the Cadillac factory team. Next Thursday, February 13, the mayor's office of the city of Concord, located in North Carolina, will consider the documents submitted by Cadillac for the construction of a new base. According to the documentation, Cadillac plans to build a production building worth $ 65-70 million and invest a similar amount in equipment. Thus, investments in the construction and arrangement of the base will approach 150 million dollars. At the new base they plan to develop and produce power units for the Formula 1 team. In 2026, the team will start with Ferrari engines, but in 2028 plans to switch to its own engines. The North Carolina base will employ 300-350 people and will work alongside the new base opened by Andretti Global at Silverstone before the project was taken over by General Motors. Development of the car for the 2026 season is already underway in the UK.
At the end of last year in Red Bull Racing decided to replace Sergio Perez with Liam Lawson, as a result of which the Mexican racer was left without a place for 2025. Commenting on the decision of the team, Sergio said that he intends to take a pause of six months, after which he will make a decision on further plans. As it was learned by the publication Racingnews365, Perez is actively working on a return to Formula 1. The racer has already held a meeting with representatives of Cadillac, which discussed the contract for 2026. Sergio is considered one of the candidates for a place in the new team on a par with Valtteri Bottas and Colton Herta. However, the team will not enter into contracts and announce them until it receives final approval of its Formula 1 entry.
Oliver Berman: I hope my career will be a long one
Oliver Berman, the new Haas F1 driver, had three Grand Prix races last year, and in all cases he was behind the wheel due to a certain coincidence. The British racer, who was then only 18 years old, at the beginning of the season in Saudi Arabia replaced in Ferrari Carlos Sainz, who required an emergency appendectomy, then twice - in Baku and Sao Paulo piloted Haas Kevin Magnussen. These three races were enough to get into the taste, especially since he earned points at the first attempt, and in Azerbaijan again finished in the top ten. Now Oliver is facing his first full season with the American team, and he's setting some goals for himself. "Haas F1 had a great season last year, was on an upward trajectory and ended up 7th in the Constructors Cup," Berman said in an interview with the BBC regional TV studio in Norwich.

Wolff does not anticipate Mercedes achieving success until 2026.
Toto Wolff has tempered expectations regarding Mercedes’ 2025 Formula 1 season. After enjoying remarkable title success with Lewis Hamilton until 2021, the team and the seven-time world champion experienced a downturn in the new 'ground effect era.' Hamilton, now 40, has moved to Ferrari.

"I acknowledge the issues we have faced," team principal and co-owner Wolff told La Repubblica. "However, a close analysis of the data reveals that we were not the only ones to experience inconsistent performances in 2024."

Regarding Hamilton's prospects with Ferrari, Wolff remarked, "When given a competitive car, Lewis remains the best. We were unable to provide that for him. He is a driver who can contribute significantly to Formula 1 and the team that supports him; I have no doubts about that.
2025 Kia Carnival Hybrid Review: A Stylish Option for Discerning Parents
The SUV has overshadowed the minivan. Sure, it’s an old reference for an outdated vehicle type. For most families, a minivan is generally more practical and useful than an SUV. However, once people noticed the tougher designs and four-wheel drive of SUVs, they realized these vehicles allowed them to transport their families while still looking stylish. Consequently, driving a minivan began to seem like a concession made for convenience. Minivans became comparable to automotive sweatpants, and many buyers still hold that perception.

However, the 2025 Kia Carnival Hybrid stands out. It’s not like a pair of drab Kirkland Signature sweatpants; it resembles a stylish pair of Nike Elite sweats: practical, comfortable, yet fashionable. It’s the minivan that trendy parents might drive.
Formula 1 teams continue to battle each other not only on the racetrack, but also off the track. The Red Bull Racing team announced the signing of a sponsorship contract with 1Password, a company specializing in cybersecurity services. Negotiations on the signing of a sponsorship contract with 1Password were held in parallel in McLaren and Mercedes, but Red Bull Racing was able to get ahead of the competition, making a more interesting proposal.
In the coming season, 1Password logos will appear on the steering wheel, Halo and body of Max Verstappen and Liam Lawson's cars. Christian Horner, Team Principal: "Everyone in the team is delighted to welcome 1Password to the Red Bull family as an exclusive cyber security partner. As we approach the start of the 2025 season, it is vital that our entire organization has safe and secure access to critical information so we can continue to make the right decisions based on the data we receive on the track and at our Milton Keynes base."
Red Bull Racing has hinted at a battle paint scheme for the RB21
In exactly one week, February 18, in London sports and concert complex The O2 Arena will be held bright and large-scale presentation with the participation of all teams of Formula 1. Such a show is organized for the first time, although the new cars we will not see there, only show cars, but approximately in the same design, in which they will go to the start of the season in Australia. But today in Red Bull Racing decided to stir up a little interest of the public and published the first teaser, dedicated to the upcoming event. Nothing concrete on it will not be able to see, but even he caused curious comments. Here, for example, that writes RacingNews365: "In Red Bull teased a special version of the coloring after the request of Max Verstappen to make changes to the color scheme.
Rumor: Red Bull has a problem with the 2026 engine
In 2026, Red Bull Racing will switch to its own power units, developed by Red Bull Powertrains together with Ford. The team has high hopes with this and called the creation and production of engines the largest project in the last twenty years. However, the press managed to find out that at this stage the project has problems. In the latest issue of the Italian Autosprint with reference to their sources tells that bench tests of the power plant show a lack of power. However, the problem is not only in this - the test samples demonstrate also low reliability, and in the team it is considered a more serious problem. At the disposal of Red Bull remains a year to solve the difficulties encountered, but the recent experience of Honda shows that to bring the hybrid power plant, built from scratch, to a competitive level requires several years.

In recent years, the advertising policy of Red Bull has changed, the brand AlphaTauri parted with the team, which is now called Racing Bulls, but signed a contract with Max - the racer will participate in the presentation of clothing lines and fashion collections.
Since parting ways with RB after last year's Singapore Grand Prix, Daniel Riccardo has been a no-show at the Grand Prix and has hinted that his Formula 1 career is over. David Coulthard believes that if Riccardo plans to capitalize on his status as a former F1 driver in the future, he needs a constant reminder.
David Coulthard: "If Daniel is still thinking about racing, he will have to find the right series for him, but there is no doubt that he would be a valuable asset to Formula 1 teams in terms of personality. He hasn't had success at McLaren or RB, but he has become a celebrity who is incredibly popular with the fans. I wouldn't be surprised if he's already realized that working in the media space will help keep him in demand. But in order to do that, he needs to act now. Daniel shouldn't think he can take a year off and still remain as interesting."
Bottas believes that Mercedes will allow him to compete in 2025.
Valtteri Bottas acknowledges that one of his responsibilities in 2025 will be to act as a "kind of mentor" for Lewis Hamilton’s successor, teenager Kimi Antonelli. Team principal Toto Wolff mentioned this recently, stating that assisting Antonelli will be part of Bottas's role as he returns to Mercedes as a reserve driver after leaving Sauber. "I believe you can see me as a kind of mentor," Bottas, 35, remarked after his lengthy summer vacation in Australia. "As a rookie, there are numerous new concepts to grasp, and I can certainly assist with that."

The Finnish driver has pledged to be present at every race on the calendar, including all technical meetings with both Antonelli and George Russell.
FIA may allow a twelfth team on the F1 grid.
A twelfth Formula 1 team may soon be emerging, following in Cadillac's footsteps. After a lengthy battle with F1's commercial rights holder Liberty Media and the current ten teams, Cadillac - initially associated with Andretti - has finally received approval to join the sport in 2026.

"I didn't grasp the reasoning behind it," F1 icon Gerhard Berger remarked to Auto Motor und Sport when questioned about Liberty’s resistance. "Perhaps there’s something going on behind the scenes that I'm unaware of.

"What more could you ask for than an American team featuring an American driver supported by Cadillac? Sure, Cadillac diverts some funds from the other teams, but it also attracts new sponsors.

"A better resolution could have been reached instead of two years of disputes," Berger stated.
Berger suggests that Verstappen may depart from Red Bull following the 2025 season.
Max Verstappen’s tenure at Red Bull might come to an end in 2025, as suggested by the brand’s first-ever sponsored athlete. Amid speculation that Ferrari will showcase a darker red design this season, there are also whispers that Red Bull might finally break away from its typical dark blue matte aesthetic in 2025. These speculations arise alongside news that Verstappen will don the apparel of Red Bull’s fashion line, Alpha Tauri, throughout the upcoming season. The four-time world champion is also publicly supporting a change in F1 liveries, stating, "We’ve had so many matte blue cars - sometimes I think it’s nice to spice things up a bit."

At 27, Verstappen is likely to influence this decision, especially given the current state within the team.
The Aston Martin team has announced the signing of a multi-year contract with British cosmetics manufacturer Elemis. As part of the partnership, the company will launch a limited range of products to be offered to team guests on the track and will open a spa on the Aston Martin yacht at the Monaco Grand Prix. Jefferson Slack, Managing Director of Commercial and Marketing: "We are delighted to welcome Elemis to the Aston Martin family and global motorsport. The Elemis brand is synonymous with innovation and excellence, so it is only natural that the company has partnered with us ahead of the 2025 season. The announcement of the team's first official skin care partner marks an important milestone in our engagement with the fans and I am delighted that this will open up new opportunities for both parties."
The upcoming season Valtteri Bottas will spend in the role of reserve racer Mercedes. The Finn said that he will be interesting to watch the performances of former teammate Lewis Hamilton. Valtteri Bottas: "It will be great to see Lewis again among the leaders. He is highly motivated this year as he has a new challenge ahead of him, which will be a great incentive. But I'm interested to see how they get on with Charles Leclair. I think the 2025 season will be interesting. The gaps between the top four or five teams are minimal, so it's very hard to predict who will get the advantage. This is good for the fans and for the sport in general, the first few races will give us an idea of the balance of power, but with such minimal gaps, if one of the teams takes a step forward, it will change everything. Of course, I hope that Mercedes will be among the contenders for the title. Everyone in the team is striving for that.
