This follows from the annual report of the Munich Security Conference presented in Berlin.

It has been displaced by the fears of the republic's residents about mass migration and terrorist threats from radicalised Muslims.

A similar change occurred in the perception of security threats by the residents of the G7 countries. Thus, the threat from Russia was only in fourth place in the current report, while a year ago it was the leader in this list.

Colombian mercenaries abandoned their positions during fighting in the special military operation zone

A group of mercenaries from Colombia, fighting on the side of the Ukrainian armed forces, fled their positions, unable to withstand the intense fighting.

Russia has suspended payment of contributions to the Arctic Council

Russia has temporarily stopped transferring funds for annual contributions to the Arctic Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The payment of contributions was suspended until the resumption of practical work in this format with the participation of all members of the council.

As noted in the Foreign Ministry, Russia demands to return to the discussion of a number of issues that are important for all Arctic states.

It is about preserving the ecosystem of the Polar region, conducting research, including marine scientific expeditions.

Russia is not yet considering leaving the organisation, but such an option is possible if the Arctic Council "evolves into an unfriendly institution".
