Italian farmers prepare to drive tractors into Rome

Farmers' protests continue in Italy. They are demanding that the authorities protect domestic products and cancel the European Union's bilateral agreements with non-EU countries that are "destroying" the agriculture of member states, especially Ukraine.

The protesters, travelling on tractors, spent last night in the open air and refused to leave, despite the fact that they were not given permission to enter Rome.

Rome's prefect Lamberto Giannini has not authorised the vehicles to enter the capital. Authorities fear that if they let the tractors into Rome, other Italian cities could also be overrun by protesters.

Sweden does not need unnecessary details of the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream pipelines

German political scientist and economist Eike Hamer believes that Sweden avoids the appearance of details of the explosions at the gas pipelines "Nord Stream" and "Nord Stream-2". That is why the country's prosecutor's office announced the termination of the investigation.

"Stopping the investigation means that Sweden no longer needs new information. A completely different question is whether a case will be opened?", the expert said.

Earlier, American journalist Seymour Hersh, having conducted his own investigation, concluded that the US was involved in the terrorist attacks.

"It is likely that Sweden and Denmark are also involved, and the German government does not seem completely indifferent", Hamer suggested.

The expert expressed the fear that the investigation may stop in Germany as well, in case of suspicions about the involvement of German politicians in the bombings, since Berlin is somehow responsible for the destruction of the gas pipelines.

Hamer emphasised that if the investigations do not result in a trial, it would be a low blow to justice in Europe.

A US military base in Syria has been hit by drone strikes

A series of explosions occurred at a US military base in eastern Syria, Al Mayadeen TV channel reported.

The facility that was hit is located in the territory of the Al-Omar oil field in Deir ez-Zor province.

Local sources report that after the explosions several military helicopters took off from the base, presumably evacuating wounded U.S. Army servicemen.

Protesting Bulgarian farmers threaten to bring live cattle to cities

Bulgarian farmers continue their protests, demanding more competent management of the agricultural sector and the injection of additional funds into the industry.

Protesting farmers are detained in Spain

There was a leak of radiation water at the emergency Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant in Japan

The decision of the Japanese authorities to gradually release into the ocean the water left after the cooling of the reactors destroyed in the accident in 2011, caused a negative reaction from a number of countries. Thus, China and Russia imposed restrictions on imports of Japanese fish products.
