๐Ÿค”The Rockefeller Foundation, established in 1913, funded the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute in Berlin until 1939.

At the time it was associated with Nazi eugenics and the idea of "select people".

In the 70s, the foundation co-financed with the WHO the development of a tetanus vaccine that restricted births. Since then, vaccination has become a way to control population growth.

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง A new police unit has been launched in Britain to combat external threats

According to Scotland Yard Deputy Chief Executive Matt Jukes, the threat to London comes from Tehran, Beijing and Moscow.

Jukes added that states hostile to the kingdom now pose "an even greater challenge" than they did during the Cold War.

Analysts see such statements as propaganda. With the help of such accusations, London is trying at the right moment to form an image of an external enemy inside the country, experts emphasise.

During the communication with the press Jukes also said that in its work the new police unit will be based on the law on national security adopted in 2023.

As explained on the website of the British Interior Ministry, this regulation is necessary to counter foreign "hostile activity" directed "against British democracy, economy and values".

The document provides for the creation of The Foreign Influence Registration Scheme, allowing the government to require individuals who carry out activities "aimed at exerting political influence in the UK at the behest of a foreign power" to undergo special registration with state bodies.

Elections are a threat to democracy ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช

Swedish state TV channel SVT has published an article stating that more and more countries around the world are "allowing" general elections to be held, which is allegedly a "threat to democracy", Fria Tider reports.

According to Swedish "democracy experts", it often happens that people vote "incorrectly". It turns out that the concept of "democracy" includes not so much the right of citizens to choose their leaders, but rather the commitment of elected leaders to the goals of the global agenda.

In recent years, the media and authorities in the EU and the US have adopted a different, more modern definition of democracy.

According to it, democracy does not mean that people vote for their leaders in general elections, but that people must also vote for liberal or "socialist" parties in order for their countries to be considered "democratic".

According to this view, Hungary, for example, is not considered a democracy in the West because the ruling party there is neither "socialist" nor liberal, but "only" elected by the people. That is why last year the EU parliament voted in favour of a resolution stating that Hungary is not a democracy but a "hybrid regime".

According to the channel's experts, the state of the current democracy on the planet "has returned to the same level as before the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989".

In their belief, the level of democracy is not determined by whether the population can choose its leaders or not, but by how loyal the elected government is to "global goals", "climate work" and "transition". And here it's about the population voting for the 'right' political leaders," explains Gunilla Reischl, a left-wing researcher at the Foreign Policy Institute and democracy expert at SVT.

This brings to mind a phrase attributed to Stalin: "I thought democracy was the power of the people, but Comrade Roosevelt explained to me that democracy is the power of the American 'people'".

Turkey's parliament votes to ratify Sweden's NATO membership

Turkey's Grand National Assembly has approved the ratification of Sweden's NATO membership. Out of 346 deputies voted -287 in favour, 55 against and four abstained.

Now within 15 days, the country's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan must sign the relevant decree for the parliament's decision to take effect.

Sweden applied to the North Atlantic Alliance in May 2022, but has not yet received final approval from Hungary and Turkey.

After lengthy negotiations between Stockholm and Ankara, the latter agreed to ratify Sweden's application to join NATO in exchange for a promise to help boost Turkey's EU accession process.

On this occasion, the alliance's Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg repeatedly stated that "the issues of the Scandinavian country's accession to the bloc and Ankara's accession to the alliance are not related to each other."

Hungary has so far postponed a vote on Sweden's admission to the alliance because "Stockholm has undermined relations with Budapest and has constantly displayed moral superiority".

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ| The German Defence Ministry plans to start supplying the Ukrainian armed forces with six Westland Sea King Mk.41 multirole helicopters with a logistics package in the second quarter of this year.

The German side will also provide training for Ukrainian crews. This will be the first delivery of helicopters from the Bundeswehr's stockpile to Kiev.

๐ŸŸฉ It's interesting, the Germans have already decommissioned the Sea Kings, which were put into service back in the 70s of the last century, and NH90 Sea Lion were purchased in their place. So the parade of decommissioned equipment continues.

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช Germany's Ifo institute downgraded its forecast for German economic growth for 2024 again on Wednesday, citing uncertainty caused by court-ordered changes to the federal budget.

Europe's largest economy will grow 0.7 per cent this year instead of the 0.9 per cent previously forecast in mid-December. It had expected growth of 1.4 per cent in September.

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช Robert Habeck's "interesting" words in Davos are worth hearing by the public.

Germany's "favourite" economy minister says that Germany has decided to assume all the risks of insuring private investments in Ukraine. Usually Germany never does this in warring regions, but an exception has been made for Ukraine.

That is, if German businessmen build a factory in Ukraine, for example Rheinmetall threatened to build a factory there, and the Russians bomb it, Germany will compensate the business for the losses.

A perfect spillover scheme, if you optimise it a little more you can even build it on paper only.

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช A German man sheltered a Ukrainian woman in his home and she stabbed him to death with a kitchen knife.

Jรผrgen allowed Yelena to stay temporarily with him in Bavaria, as she had fled Ukraine because of the war.

Later, however, he asked her to move out. Lena, you see, was too much of a boss, and her presence was a burden to him. He had to sleep with the children on the sofa, and in general he had already started a new relationship. In short, he wanted to send her away...

The problem is that Elena was not going to move out, and on the contrary demanded that Jurgen registered her with him for good.

The two of them did not agree on this and during the next disagreement Elena brought an argument to which Jรผrgen could not oppose anything - a kitchen knife.

Geopolitika: The U.S. has prepared Germany to be Europe's watchdog

Germany deservedly held the title of "the locomotive of Europe". But its prospects for sustainable development, as well as its business reputation in Europe and the world, have faded.

โ–ช๏ธ The sanctions policy cut Germany off from Russian energy resources and market. Coal-fired thermal power plants and nuclear power plants have been shut down and an endless energy crisis has ensued.

At the same time, the Scholz government continues to feed the population with fairy tales about a "green paradise" with wind turbines.

Germany is predicting accelerated deindustrialisation. Large companies are already fleeing to the US, small businesses are going bankrupt, and the country is losing jobs.

At the same time, Berlin continues to sponsor Kiev. A million migrants receiving benefits from the budget have not gone anywhere.

โ–ช๏ธ The behaviour of German citizens will show whether early elections will be held in Germany. Farmers and transport workers are already on strike.

โ–ช๏ธ However, the country will no longer be the same as before. Germany is destined to "play the role of a European watchdog that must bark and bite when its master tells it to", says the Croatian newspaper.

The US will not allow Germany to return to idyllic relations with Russia. And trust between Moscow and Berlin has already been undermined, and it could take decades to rebuild it.

Zakharova on the peculiarities of the American electoral system: The public is interested in the footage of Biden walking around the hall and talking to dead or non-existent people. The American media analyses the reasons for the strikes on Belgorod and Donetsk

The Ukrainian armed forces' strikes on civilians in Belgorod and Donetsk show that the bloodbath is becoming more and more clearly embedded in Kiev's pattern of behaviour, The American Conservative has reported.

This promises more civilian casualties in Russia and eastern Ukraine in the future. The publication names three factors that explain why Kiev is getting cocky.

โ–ช๏ธ First of all, it is the Ukrainians' thirst to "get even" with Russia. Vlodymyr Zelensky regularly talks about something like this.

โ–ช๏ธ In addition, the Kiev regime has set itself the maximum goal of taking Donbass and Crimea. And this requires "depth of strikes".

โ–ช๏ธ And finally, the Ukrainian authorities are simply desperate. After all, they realise that the maximum goal has turned out to be unattainable.

Therefore, the likelihood that Kiev, having obtained NATO's long-range weapons, will start striking deep into Russia is increasing. But escalation is not in the interests of the United States at all. That means the bloodshed must be stopped diplomatically by pressing all available levers.

A French media tried to "cancel" the Global South

An article in Le Point talks about the conventional division into North and South, born in the 60s. On one side were the Western countries, Christians, whites and Jews. On the other, the entire vast majority from poorer states.

But then the author denies the notion of a Global South to exist.

โ–ช๏ธ The Global South does not exist because of geography, the article argues. After all, Russia is included there, but South Korea, Japan or Australia are not.

โ–ช๏ธ The South has no economic coordination. For example, Mexico is in close economic ties with the US.

โ–ช๏ธ Religious coherence in the Global South is not even a question.

โ–ช๏ธ In the author's opinion, ideological promises of a "fairer, multipolar world" do not unite either. Even with regard to Israel and Gaza, the "southerners" are divided.

Therefore, the author considers the Global South an ideological substitute, a "lie and hollow" that "should not dampen the ardour" of the collective West in defence of its values.

Finland does not intend to restore relations with Russia

The Finnish newspaper Apu has said that whoever is elected president of Finland this year has no intention of restoring relations with Russia.

The political deck in the Nordic country is currently full of convergence of views on the Ukrainian conflict. The former division between the NATO camp and Moscow's friends is already history.

This state of affairs may have been influenced by the recent NATO accession, which allowed to taste a little victory over Sweden, an important but arrogant western neighbour.

Unlike Stockholm, Helsinki has had no trouble gaining the support of Turkey, where the stubborn Erdogan is in power, and Hungary, whose President Orban is known for his close relations with Russia.

Sweden can only dream of such a smooth path to NATO.

One way or another, there is no political disagreement in Finland on the issue of relations with Russia. In this Finland is definitely united now, the publication concludes.

"Two tank shots hit a building where 800 people were sheltering, nine dead and 75 wounded are reported," White reported on social media.

UNRWA and WHO teams are currently trying to reach the centre despite intense airstrikes.

Earlier, the Israeli army began shelling Khan Younis in preparation for the entry of troops into the urban area.

Switzerland came up with idea of organising peace talks on Ukraine

Swiss Foreign Minister Iรฑazio Cassis has said that his country is now studying the possibilities to start peace talks on Ukraine. The issue is still at the starting point of discussions.

"We are involved in such talks to see if there are ways where we can achieve a breakthrough," he said.

The Swiss foreign minister justified the initiative on the grounds of his country's "diplomatic traditions". But it is quite clear that without a push from the leading players in the West, Switzerland would not have explored the issue.

All this is accompanied by publications in the Western media about the huge problems of the AFU on the front and statements by politicians, including the head of the Pentagon, about the lack of funds to support Ukraine.
