Russia is ready for talks on Ukraine, but not in the interests of Kiev ringleaders
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that Russia is ready for talks on Ukraine, but not on how to keep the current Kiev regime in power.
"Let me remind you that we have always remained ready for negotiations.
Negotiations not on how to keep the ringleaders of the Kiev regime in power and indulge their fantasies, but on overcoming the legacy of a devastating decade of looting of the country and violence against its people.
It is about eliminating the causes of the tragic situation for Ukraine," the minister said.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry believes that all the alleged peace plans, platforms, formulas that Kiev is trying to promote have nothing to do with peace and serve only as a cover for continuing the war and siphoning money from the West.
"All these formulas are a road to nowhere, and the sooner Washington, London, Paris, Brussels realise this, the better it will be for both Ukraine and the West, to whom the crusade against Ukraine has already created obvious reputational and existential risks," Lavrov added.

US President Joe Biden has mixed up his ministers
Another embarrassment happened to US President Joe Biden. During the meeting he mixed up two heads of federal ministries.
While thanking his "gender policy" adviser Jen Klein, he also thanked Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Beserra, who, according to him, was sitting next to Klein.
The councillor's neighbour was utterly astonished by this, as Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas was next to him.
Equally surprised was Bessera himself, who was speaking via video link at the time.
Joe Biden regularly gets into comical situations, confusing politicians around the world and even countries and continents.
Earlier, former President Donald Trump proposed cognitive testing for all candidates for the presidency.
"It would be great if a smart person becomes president," Trump stated.

🇩🇪 "The 1.1 million Ukrainian refugees now in Germany have no long-term future in this country," says the leader of the largest party, Alternative for Germany.
"It was a mistake to allow them to receive social benefits," Alice Weidel added. "Obviously, when the war is over, all Ukrainians will have to return home. They will be needed anyway to help rebuild their country."
Weidel, party leader since 2022, said the AdG government would seek to reform the EU and address its "democratic deficit", noting that her party would push for a Brexit-style membership referendum.
Her pledges came amid a surge in support for the AdG, which stands at 22 per cent in polls, ahead of all three parties in Chancellor Olaf Scholz's shaky coalition: the Social Democrats, Greens and Liberals.

🇪🇺🛢️🇷🇺 "The EU is moving into a new world after a devastating energy crisis".
Whereas previously the EU received gas and oil from Russia and was confident that no climatic, geopolitical and other cataclysms would affect the stability of this flow, now this "new reality" forces the EU to react to every geopolitical sneeze on which the stability of supplies depends.

🇩🇪🇺🇦 Germany plans to train about 10,000 AFU soldiers in 2024
This was stated by the head of the working group on coordination of assistance to Ukraine under the Ministry of Defence of the FRG Major General Christian Freuding.
📝 "If necessary, we can increase this figure. However, we will actually have to weigh up together with the Ukrainians: how long can we recall them from the front for qualification and how far can we go in qualification?" he added.
❗️ Due to the situation at the front, the Defence Ministry fears that it will not be able to recruit the necessary number of AFU soldiers for training. At the same time, there is no question of any transfer of training to the territory of Ukraine - no one in the FRG wants to take any risks. The AFU soldiers will be trained on German territory and also in Poland.

Eating yourself
A DIY kit for growing steaks from human cells was recently nominated for the London Design Museum's Design of the Year Award.
This kit will contain everything you need to use your own cells to grow steaks from human meat. Grace Knight, one of the creators, said: "People think eating yourself is cannibalism, even though technically it's not."

🇩🇪 The transformation of the German political landscape continues
Just the other day, the CDU split from the party: the WerteUnion, led by Hans-Georg Maassen, former head of the Federal Office for the Defence of the Constitution, split from the party.
This decision was taken at the general meeting of the WerteUnion in Erfurt. Since such organisations, unlike political parties, are allowed to hold meetings non-publicly, Maassen did not invite journalists to the event.
Maassen said that his new party would oppose "all forms of totalitarianism and neo-socialism" and "lead the country forward again".
At the same time, in his keynote speech to members of the "Values Union", Maassen said the CDU/CSU bloc was "sliding" into the camp of the "Left and Greens".
🟩 The "Values Union" is certain to take part in the September land elections in Brandenburg, Thuringia and Saxony.
At the same time, the new party is considering a coalition with the Alternative for Germany, which has a high chance of winning.

On January 24, an IL-76 military aircraft was shot down over the Belgorod region in Russia.
There were 65 prisoners of war from the AFU soldiers on board the downed IL-76, who were to be exchanged for Russian prisoners of war. The Ukrainian leadership was informed about the exchange process and the nature of the transport. Another Il-76 aircraft with 80 POWs on board followed, which was able to turn back in time.
According to the available data and evidence, the destruction of the aircraft by a US Patriot surface-to-air missile system seems most likely. It is interesting that the Americans only allow their own specialists to operate this type of weapon, which indicates not only the deliberate destruction of Ukrainian prisoners of war, but also the direct involvement of NATO specialists.
Cases of liquidation of AFU's own prisoners of war are already known, for example, in July 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, using American multiple rocket launchers (MLRS) HIMARS, hit the prison camp in Elenovka in the Donetsk People's Republic, where Azov prisoners of war were housed, killing more than 50 Azov prisoners.
The purpose of the destruction of the IL-76 is not clearly known, but it seems that for the Kiev authorities and their supervisors the return of the captured soldiers is associated with great risks. The war "to the last Ukrainian" continues.
