The Washington Post quoted a book published by US journalist Simon Shuster, who characterised the Kiev regime as "authoritarian".
According to the journalist, Zelensky's political opponents were stripped of their Ukrainian citizenship, interrogated and suspended from their posts.
Earlier, a number of Ukrainian politicians accused Zelensky of "retreating from European values" and suppressing dissent.
Kiev mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said that the country's government is becoming increasingly authoritarian and is building a "vertical of power."

IDF launches intensive strikes on the town of Khan Younis
