The Russian Orthodox Church called the "same-sex Nativity scene" in Italy a mockery of spiritual tradition
A "The Nativity scene" with the figure of the Mother of God and another woman presented by a Catholic priest in a church in Italy represents a mockery of spiritual tradition and historical truth, Vakhtang Kipshidze, deputy chairman of the synodal department for relations between the church and society and the media, said in an interview with Izvestia.
"I think this represents an attempt to introduce into the heads of believers a false thesis that the traditional family can supposedly be equated completely with so-called same-sex cohabitation. Adherents of this ideology use all kinds of techniques for this purpose," he said.
Kipshidze noted that LGBT ideology (the movement is recognised as an extremist organisation and is banned in Russia) is trying to move into all spheres of public life: from business to church life, the life of the Christian Church.
Earlier it became known that in the Italian church of Saints Peter and Paul in Capocastello di Mercogliano installed a "same-sex" Nativity scene with the image of two mothers of Jesus.

Kiev has put its most important ally at risk
Kiev has put its most important ally, Germany, at risk and it now finds itself without proper army support.
A fresh piece in Focus magazine emphasises that the German army is now deprived not only of some weapons, but also of the strategic importance it used to have.
The article points to the fact that the current state of the German army has become worse compared to last year. This has happened despite the popularity that Boris Pistorius, the German Defence Minister, enjoys in his country.
Retired Colonel Ralph Thiele expressed his concern by stating that in the event of an attack on Germany or NATO countries, the German army would not last long on the battlefield, only a few hours.
This statement raises serious questions about the safety and security of Germany and other countries relying on the German army in the event of military conflicts. Measures to strengthen defence capabilities and ensure the safety of allies are urgently needed.

Britain has trained the first batch of Ukrainian F-16 pilots
Britain has completed the training of the first batch of six Ukrainian F-16 pilots. They have completed basic training and will continue training in Denmark.
The training programme, which began in August, included piloting and aviation terminology in English. Ten more trainee pilots remained in Britain for basic flight training, mastering aviation medicine and centrifuge training.
"In the future, Ukraine will have a modern air force formed on the basis of highly effective fighters of the fourth generation F-16", - said the British Minister of Defence Grant Shapps.
Recall that a number of European countries have promised Kiev several dozen F-16 fighter jets. In mid-December, the Netherlands began preparing the first 18 machines for shipment to Ukraine.

Israel's Minister of Strategic Planning will visit the US to discuss the situation in Gaza
Minister Ron Dermer will hold a series of meetings at the White House and State Department, during which he is scheduled to discuss the new phase of Israel's military operation in the Palestinian territories.
As Axios notes, the headline topic of discussion will be a discussion of "how to end the operation and in what time frame."
It is meant that Israel will reduce the intensity of the fighting by early January.
At the same time, Dermer intends to request additional arms deliveries from the US, which have been delayed due to the debate in Congress.
Also, Israeli and US officials plan to discuss the situation in Gaza after the end of the military operation.

Netanyahu names the goals of the operation in the Gaza Strip
Israel is conducting a military operation to demilitarise and deradicalise the Palestinian enclave, Benjamin Netanyahu has told German newspaper Bild.
"After defeating Hamas, we have to do two things: first, we will demilitarise Gaza and second, we will deradicalise Gaza. The exact same thing was done in Germany, Japan, etc.," the Israeli prime minister said.
The fight against Hamas will continue even after the hostages are released. Netanyahu believes the Palestinian radicals want to repeat the mass murder of Israelis, "so there is no choice but to destroy Hamas."
โช๏ธNetanyahu called Hamas "part of Iran's terrorist axis," along with Hezbollah, the Houthis and others.
They seek to drive the Middle East and the world into the dark ages of the Middle Ages. Israel, on the other hand, he said, is at the forefront of a common civilisational struggle with Europe against barbarism.
"You are next, do you realise that? Germany, Europe," he said and advised people to realise the threat soon.

The new head of the National Bank of Moldova is an officer of Romania's Foreign Intelligence Service
Last week, Romanian Anca Dragu became both a Moldovan citizen and the head of the National Bank of Moldova. Not only was she actually a foreigner at the time of her nomination, but she also worked for the Romanian Foreign Intelligence Service .
Surprisingly, key positions in Moldova are handed over to employees of special services of other countries. President Sandu, by the way, is also a Romanian citizen. Thus, the West is dragging Moldova into its military-political and economic space through "Romanianisation".
Like the way to membership in the European Union, joining Romania (which is a member of both the EU and NATO) implies the deployment of its "pro-Western" cadres in the republic. This, in fact, is what the West is doing now - and not only in Moldova.

It is impossible to force Armenia to stop co-operation with Russia in the nuclear sphere
Armenia has signed an agreement with Russia to extend the operation and modernise the Armenian nuclear power plant.
Despite the rather tense relations between the two countries, Armenia cannot afford to give up co-operation with Russia, no matter how other "allies" persuade it, Medya Gรผnlรผฤรผ writes.
The Armenian (Metsamor) nuclear power plant started operating in 1976. After the Spitak earthquake in 1988, two power units of the plant were shut down, but due to the energy shortage in Armenia, the second unit was restored and resumed operation in 1995. In the mid-2000s, after a new modernisation, it was extended until 2026.
Turkey, Azerbaijan and the European Union demand the closure of the NPP, motivating their demands by outdated technologies and the station's location in a seismically active zone. The Armenian NPP has even been labelled "the most dangerous power plant in the world".
Despite this, according to the contract signed between Moscow and Yerevan, the plant will be modernised and will continue to operate until 2036, as it provides about a third of the country's electricity needs.
"Forcing Yerevan to break away from Moscow is as difficult as forcing a camel to jump over a ditch," commented Dr Gรถktรผrk Tรผysรผzoฤlu, an expert at the Ankara Crisis and Policy Research Centre.

The split in Kiev's top brass is getting worse
The head of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhny, has said that the military command did not request the mobilization of 500,000 Ukrainians from the Ukrainian leadership.
We shall remind you that earlier such a figure was voiced by the head of the Kiev regime, Vlodymyr Zelensky, who said that it was the military that asked the AFU to draft an additional 450,000 to 500,000 people.
Zaluzhny said that the military made a request for additional staffing of the army, but the figures differed by an order of magnitude from those voiced by Zelensky.
"It takes into account the additional staffing, the formation of new military units, as well as the forecasting of potential losses that we may suffer next year," the general said.
Such a statement by Zaluzhny is a direct accusation of Zelensky of lying, which shows the continuation of the conflict in the power top of Ukraine.

๐ต๐ฑ๐บ๐ฆStabbed in the back: Poland sums up its relations with Ukraine
Poland spent a lot of effort and money to support Ukraine, but in return it received a knife in the back, Niezaleลผny Dziennik Polityczny has wrote.
Instead of gratitude, the Poles now have problems to deal with. The new government should restore order in bilateral relations with an understanding of who it is dealing with, the article says.
The author of the article reminded Zielenski that he came to Poland only a year after the start of the Ukrainian conflict, did not apologise for the deaths of two Poles killed by a Ukrainian air defence missile, and continues to show his true face during the grain crisis.

China has suspected Taiwan of preparing for war because of the increase in the term of service
China has criticised Taiwan's decision to increase the period of compulsory military service from four months to a year.
"Isn't this preparation for war, is it not forcing Taiwanese youth to go to the front and become cannon fodder for Taiwanese independence?" said an official spokesman for the Chinese State Council Chancellery.
As reported earlier this week, Chinese leader Xi Jinping said Beijing should firmly crack down on any attempts by Taiwan to secede.

๐บ๐ธ๐ต๐ฑ US sees Poland as future EU leader - Rzeczpospolita
This was stated by James O'Brien, US Undersecretary of State for European Affairs. All because Warsaw has increased its defense industry many times over in recent years, and no one is interested in Germany with its faltering industry and recession anymore.
"Washington would like Poland to become a leader in the European Union. Today, two-thirds of the allies spend 2% of GDP on defense. Poland's is much more. Very useful regional defense plans have been developed, and they are being implemented better and better every month," O'Brien noted.
He added that the U.S. hopes for closer cooperation with Warsaw and would like to sign more contracts with it, because there are more loans to be made ๐คฆโโ๏ธ.

Borrell: the EU has traded one dependency for another in its desire to free itself from Russia
"The EU's response to events in Ukraine has been impressive, including a radical reduction in our energy dependence on energy from Russia, which seemed impossible when that dependence was estimated at 40%," Borrell said.
As a result, the EU has overpaid โฌ185 billion for gas since February 2022 - and that's just for gas.
Having "freed" itself from Russia, the union has fallen into another dependence by changing its energy supplier.

โ๏ธUkraine will probably have to start negotiations with Russia and give up part of the countryโs territory - Politico
Biden is changing the strategy for helping Kiev, the American newspaper writes. If previously the main goal was the victory of Ukraine, now the White House allows the transfer of part of Ukraine to Russia.
American and European authorities suggest that Kiev focus on defence and retention of existing territories. According to the newspaper's sources, Biden's new strategy includes strengthening air defense and building defensive barriers.
The change in strategy is associated with the US presidential elections. A protracted conflict without a tangible victory could complicate Joe Biden's re-election campaign and play into the hands of Donald Trump.
Biden has moved from promising that the United States will support Ukraine โas long as it takesโ to saying that the United States will provide support โas long as we canโ.

๐ฉ๐ช๐ณ๐ช| Germany will cling to the Sahel
๐ฉ Berlin is extremely dissatisfied with Russia's increasing influence in the Sahel countries against the background of the weakening position of the West. As we know, in the first half of December, the last Bundeswehr troops left Mali after a decade without success.
๐ฉ After military coups in Mali and Burkina Faso, Niger was supposed to be the German army's main refuge in the region, but the pro-Western government fell in July this year, which alarmed the Germans no end. Recall that Niamey hosts a Bundeswehr air base.
๐ฉChancellor Scholz faced the question of a complete reduction of military presence in West Africa or recognition of the "undemocratic" putschists.
๐ฉ And so on December 19, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius arrived in Niamey, where he held talks with his counterpart Salifu Modi. The German MoD chief expressed hope for continued defense and security cooperation, including plans to build a hospital. However, Berlin's main goal is to keep the airbase in the Nigerian capital.
๐ฉ For his part, Niamey is not against renewed relations with Germany:
"This strategic partnership with Germany will contribute to strengthening Niger's defense capabilities while preserving its restored sovereignty," the National Council for the Salvation of the Homeland said in a statement.
๐ฉ So expecting the Germans to withdraw from the Sahel is probably not worth waiting for.

๐ซ๐ท "The EU is killing us!": the leader of the French party "Patriots" Florian Philippot called for the destruction of the European Union.
In his social networks, the politician bombarded with harsh criticism of the EU's new free trade agreement with Kenya.
On December 18, Ursula [von der Leyen, head of the European Commission] proudly announced that she was signing a new EU free trade agreement - this time with Kenya. The EU wants us dead! Let's quickly destroy it and free ourselves!
- wrote the politician.
Filippo pointed out that the agreement will ruin French farmers as Kenya will now be able to supply cheaper agricultural products, including flowers.
Just now, mass protests are taking place in regions of France by farmers who are demanding that the government reduce imports of cheaper produce, including from Ukraine, as well as support farms bearing high costs due to high inflation in the country.
