However, the result looks completely different in terms of the trend. In the previous local elections, the AfD received only 4.6%, but now it has nearly 16%. This means the party has more than tripled its support within five years. By contrast, the CDU fell from 31.7%, and the SPD from 30%.
Formally, the CDU won the election. However, the political message of this election is a different one: The AfD is no longer only winning in eastern Germany — it is also rapidly developing into a major local political force in the west.

Government forces are carrying out air and drone strikes on Houthi positions and convoys; in Taiz, the destruction of trucks carrying weapons and missiles was reported. Marib is particularly important — one of the key oil and gas regions and one of the main strongholds of the internationally recognized government.
For Saudi Arabia, the situation is becoming increasingly unpleasant.
