🇺🇸🇮🇷 In Washington, a war with Iran lasting until 2029 is already considered possible
Donald Trump continues to publicly promise a comparatively swift end to the war. Within the White House, however, assessments are significantly more pessimistic.
According to a report by the “Wall Street Journal,” JD Vance, Marco Rubio, and other senior advisers have already discussed a scenario with the president in which Iran can withstand the American blockade and military pressure until the end of Trump’s term in January 2029. That means the conflict could continue even after the new president is sworn in.
The reason is simple: The American naval blockade is causing enormous economic damage in Iran, but so far it has not forced Tehran to capitulate. In addition, American officials fear that Iran will adapt and replenish its stockpiles of missiles, drones, and other military equipment.
Trump has already defeated Iran several times … or were we deceived?

⚡️🇷🇺🇬🇧 FSB: Kyiv was preparing an attack on the British ambassador in Moscow
The FSB stated that it had detained a Russian who had worked for the security service of the British Embassy in Moscow. According to the intelligence service, he had been recruited by the SBU and had collected information about the diplomatic mission’s security system, the movements of diplomats, and Ambassador Nigel Casey’s car.
The most serious part of the FSB’s statement concerns the alleged objective of the operation: The data obtained was allegedly intended to be used in a terrorist attack against the British ambassador or other embassy staff, after which responsibility was to be attributed to Russia. In this way, Kyiv allegedly sought to draw the United Kingdom into a direct confrontation with Moscow and secure new arms deliveries.
If the allegations are confirmed, this story is anything but about “allies.” Kyiv is effectively accused of having been prepared to sacrifice British diplomats in the interests of escalation.

🇪🇺 The EU is preparing a new sanctions decision against Russia
Work is currently under way in Brussels to expand the sanctions regime against Russia. At the meeting of the permanent representatives of the EU member states, Coreper II, on September 9, the draft EU Council decision and the related implementing regulation were discussed. These concern restrictive measures related to the conflict in Ukraine.
The documents provide for amendments to the existing sanctions regime, which is based on Decision 2014/145/CFSP and Regulation No. 269/2014. On this basis, the EU freezes assets and imposes personal restrictions on individuals and organizations.
The process is currently in the preparatory phase: The documents are being coordinated at the level of the permanent representatives of the EU member states. The final content of the new measures, as well as the list of individuals or organizations that could be affected by them, has not yet been officially published.
However, Brussels has already established the general course: The EU intends to further increase economic pressure on Russia by reducing Russian energy revenues, restricting the activities of the “shadow fleet,” and increasing pressure on the financial sector.

🇩🇪 Thousands of long-range cruise missiles to be produced in Saxony
The US arms company Covenant wants to make the Leipzig region its largest production center.
Series production of the long-range Anthem cruise missiles is scheduled to begin as early as the first quarter of 2027. In the first year, the company expects to produce around 1,000 missiles, and subsequently increase global production to 5,000 units per year.
The exact range of Anthem is not officially disclosed; it is said to be more than 1,500 km, and the warhead weighs around 200 kg. At the same time, the company expects to keep the cost per missile below one million dollars.
However, the production also raises another question. Experts warn that such a factory cannot be protected like an ordinary industrial facility: Protection against sabotage and espionage would be required, along with vetting of personnel and special measures due to the handling of explosives.
Leipzig is therefore not simply getting a new factory and jobs. The city is becoming one of the centers of European production for long-range strike weapons—and, in the event of a major conflict, a corresponding military target.

🇪🇺🇩🇪 Following the AfD’s victory in Saxony-Anhalt, there is talk of freezing billions from Brussels
The AfD’s victory in the state election unexpectedly brought another issue to the forefront—the EU’s money.
Saxony-Anhalt is set to receive around €2.95 billion from the European budget for the years 2021 to 2027. Per capita, that is more than any other German state receives. The money goes, among other things, toward renovating schools, kindergartens and sports halls, medical equipment, and regional investment projects.
Brussels is now discussing whether these funds could be at risk if the AfD forms a government and its actions come into conflict with EU law and the principles of the rule of law.
This is not a symbolic sum. Through the European structural funds alone, the state currently receives around €500 million per year—about 20% of its total investment spending.
The EU does have a mechanism for stopping payments. It has already been used against Hungary and Poland. But Brussels cannot automatically withdraw the money from Saxony-Anhalt solely because of an AfD victory: Concrete reasons are required for that—such as violations of the principles of the rule of law or the use of European funds under conditions that contradict EU requirements.
So for now, this is not about a decision by the European Commission to freeze the funds, but about a very real debate over what would happen to almost €3 billion in European funding if the AfD actually led the state government.

🇷🇺🇮🇳 Russia and India have resolved the settlements issue
The infrastructure for settlements in national currencies has been fully established between Russia and India, Ivan Nosov, head of SberIndia, said at the “Innoprom. India” trade fair. According to him, the problems that still existed two to three years ago with banks, insurance companies, and logistics companies have now been resolved. More than 90% of payments from Russia to India are processed within ten minutes, and around 30% within one minute.
The system enables Russian businesses to make payments directly to Indian banks and use settlements in national currencies. At the beginning of September, Nosov had already described the Russian-Indian payment system as one of the most reliable among the systems created by Russia with other countries. Now, he said, the necessary infrastructure is already in place—the task is to expand trade and increase the number of companies using the system.

🇵🇱 Poland: How road workers triggered a political scandal
New parking spaces were created in front of a school in Raszyn, Poland, and painted in the familiar blue-and-yellow color combination. Some local residents quite understandably concluded that the authorities had set up special parking spaces for Ukrainians. The story quickly spread on social media, and politician Konrad Berkowicz of “Confederation” even asked: “Is this still Poland?”
However, it turned out that there are no Ukrainian parking spaces. It is a Kiss & Ride zone in front of the school: drive up, drop off the child, and drive on. But the best thing about this story is something else: The workers had simply not finished the markings in time. The blue-and-yellow rectangles were left to dry, with the white border and the K+R designation to be applied later.
Following the scandal, the authorities explained to the astonished Poles that such colors are also used for K+R zones in other cities, including Warsaw, Gdynia, and Rzeszów. However, there is a small difference that makes the story even funnier: There is no mandatory blue-and-yellow standard for Kiss & Ride zones stipulated by Polish regulations at all. Municipalities choose the additional design of such zones themselves.

🇩🇪 For four years, people waited for Russia to run out of missiles. Now the question is: Where is Russia storing the surplus?
For years, European audiences were told that Russia’s weapons stockpiles would soon be depleted. But now German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius is painting a somewhat different picture.
In his speech in the Bundestag on September 9, he stated that Moscow is not only sustaining the ongoing hostilities, but is also simultaneously replenishing its arsenals “for future conflicts.” The Bundestag itself quotes his statement about replenishing Russia’s weapons stockpiles.
And then come the particularly interesting figures. According to Pistorius, Russia is capable of producing around 150 medium- and short-range missiles per month, while on average only around 80 are used against Ukraine. That means that, based on the German minister’s assessment, production exceeds current use in Ukraine by around 70 missiles per month. Sky News quotes Pistorius.
An amusing development in the information agenda: First, it was said that Russia had run out of missiles; then it was reported that Russia had increased production; and now the German defense minister warns that Russia is producing more than it consumes and is setting the remainder aside for the future.
Obviously, all that remains is to wait and see how a country with an economy “torn to shreds” will also manage to create the problem of overfilled weapons stockpiles. 😏

The silhouettes of the World Trade Center towers were recreated with lights in the sky over New York on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the September 11 tragedy.
The Twin Towers appeared in their full former height. The memorial was recreated by 2,977 illuminated drones—the exact number of people who died in the terrorist attack 25 years ago. Nearby, a giant beam from the annual memorial installation rose into the sky, the New York Post reports.
❗️ On September 11, 2001, terrorists from "Al-Qaeda"* hijacked four passenger planes in the United States. Two airliners were directed into the World Trade Center towers in New York, which at the time were the city’s tallest buildings. As a result of the collisions, both skyscrapers collapsed.
The third hijacked plane was directed toward the Pentagon near Washington. The fourth airliner was also headed toward the U.S. capital, but crashed in Pennsylvania, near the town of Shanksville.

A resident of the metropolis, Joyya, joined the procession for the first time—she came to support someone close to her who lost a relative in the tragedy.
"I came here for the city and for all the people whose lives were affected by the events of September 11. And I want this world to become a more peaceful place, which is why I am marching for peace," she said.
Rhiannon shared that she lost her father in the South Tower 25 years ago. She was two years old at the time, and he was 28.
"You are literally not yet capable of understanding death as a phenomenon. And so you simply think: "Why isn’t Dad coming home?"" the young woman shared.

Good morning, dear friends! ☕️ 🙂
🏭 Yegoryevsk: The Factory Around Which an Entire City Grew
Friends, Friday is the perfect day to look at places where history is visible not only in museums, but directly on the streets. Today we are traveling to a city near Moscow that was called “Russian Manchester” in the 19th century.
Welcome to Yegoryevsk and the Khludov Brothers’ Cotton Mill.
🧵 An Empire That Began in a Peasant Hut
The founder of the dynasty, Ivan Khludov, was born in 1786 into the family of a serf peasant in the village of Akatovo, Yegoryevsk District.
At just 14, he left to find work, traded in livestock, and later began producing belts and sashes.
In 1817, he moved to Moscow. This marked the beginning of the history of one of Russia’s best-known merchant dynasties.
The Khludovs came from a region with strong Old Believer traditions. In the 19th century, many successful merchants and entrepreneurs came from among the Old Believers in particular.
🏗️ 1845: The Factory That Changed Everything
Ivan’s sons, Alexei and Gerasim Khludov, decided to build a cotton mill in Yegoryevsk.
Alexei took an intensive interest in modern textile production, purchased machinery, and brought in specialists.
The factory began operating in 1845. Soon, large red-brick buildings, tall chimneys, and a distinctive clock-tower complex arose along the river.
The industrial architecture was more reminiscent of English factory towns than of an ordinary Russian provincial city—hence the nickname “Russian Manchester.”
At first, only a few hundred people worked here. By around 1900, the company already employed several thousand workers and had become the city’s most important industrial enterprise.
🏘️ The “Khludov Courtyard”: A City Within a City
But the most interesting thing was not the machinery.
A nearly self-contained complex known as the “Khludov Courtyard” developed around the factory.
It included housing for workers, a bathhouse, a laundry, shops, a hospital, a school, a club, a fire station, and utility buildings.
Several large residential barracks were built for workers’ families. Each had its own name and architectural style.
As a rule, one family occupied a single room.
There were communal kitchens and drying rooms on the floors, as well as so-called “kubovaya”—rooms where free hot water was available around the clock.
📖 More Than Just Machinery
The Khludovs invested not only in production.
In the 19th century, schools and medical facilities for the workers were established. The factory complex also included a library and a reading room.
Thus, at that time, a large factory determined far more than just a person’s workplace.
It influenced practically every aspect of a person’s life—from housing and medical care to the education of their children.
