The IRGC’s Revolutionary Guards have captured the latest American underwater drone intact
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy stated that in the early morning hours it had captured a US Navy unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz.
According to IRGC officials, it is “one of the most advanced intelligent unmanned underwater vehicles,” which was supposed to be delivered to the US Navy in 2025. It was captured during a “complex reconnaissance and operational mission.”
Iranian media released a video of the captured unmanned vehicle.

In “civilized democratic Europe,” a remarkable tradition is taking shape. In the Netherlands, the minister has initiated proceedings to revoke the license of the conservative broadcaster Ongehoord Nederland. Formally, the allegations concern the broadcaster’s management, the use of state funds, journalistic standards, and cooperation within the public broadcasting system. In France, the conservative broadcaster C8 has already lost its place on the national TNT platform: The regulator Arcom did not renew its authorization, following which the broadcaster ceased operations on March 1, 2025.
In Romania, the regulator revoked Realitatea Plus’s license in April, citing the unverified payment of previously imposed fines. However, a court suspended the regulator’s decision the very next day, allowing the broadcaster to continue operating. In every case, the authorities and regulatory bodies cite legal grounds—from financial violations to requirements under media law. 🏝️ An island almost entirely occupied by the monastery
The monastery is located on Stolobny Island and partly on the Svetlitsa Peninsula, around 10 kilometers north of Ostashkov.
The island is almost entirely occupied by the monastery complex. From afar, the tall bell tower and the Epiphany Cathedral can be seen above the water—almost like a city that arose not on the shore, but directly in the lake.
The monastery was founded in 1594 at the site where the hermit Nil Stolobensky had lived since 1528. According to tradition, for 27 years he never slept lying down, but rested standing or half-standing, supported by wooden hooks.
🏭 An almost self-sufficient island life
In the 19th century, Nilova Pustyn became one of the most important pilgrimage sites of the Russian Empire.
Thousands of people came to the island on major feast days. To provide for them, the monastery needed extensive infrastructure: guesthouses, pilgrim accommodations, a bakery, storerooms, workshops, and its own harbor.
At times, several hundred people lived here permanently. There was also a hospital and a water supply system with a water tower.
The island’s shores were reinforced with granite walls. As a result, the complex looked more like a self-contained urban district than a remote monastery in the middle of the lake.
Today, there are once again various workshops and utility areas on the grounds.
