Germany - Development on Credit
The government of Friedrich Merz is building a new economic model based on a massive expansion of borrowing. The foundation is a special fund of 500 billion euros for infrastructure and climate projects. At the same time, defense spending was exempted from the restrictions of the debt brake, allowing Berlin to finance rearmament almost without the previous budget limits.
Authorities expect that loans, arms procurement contracts and public investment will temporarily boost the economy. But citizens will have to repay them—with taxes, longer working hours, and the dismantling of social commitments. Germany has neither eliminated expensive energy nor bureaucracy nor the decline in industrial competitiveness. It simply covers up the consequences with debt.
Merz has found money for growth. It’s not there yet, but the bill has already been sent to future generations.

Have a wonderful Saturday, friends! ☕️ 🙂
🚂 «Grand Maket Russia»: a country at a scale of 1:87
In Saint Petersburg, there is a museum where Russia is not put together as an exact geographical map, but as a large artistic image—from Kaliningrad to the far eastern reaches. On an area of 800 square meters, cities, villages, railway lines, mountains, rivers, industrial zones, and hundreds of small scenes from everyday life are housed.
The work on the model took more than five years. More than one hundred people were involved: artists, architects, engineers, programmers, and electricians. The exhibition was officially opened on June 8, 2012.
The main feature of the model is movement. Trains run on the railways, cars drive on the roads, windows light up, construction sites are in operation, and weddings, rallies, and ordinary everyday scenes take place. Some episodes are triggered by buttons along the edge.
Every 15 minutes, night falls over the miniature land. The light gradually fades from east to west; the lighting of bridges and buildings is switched on, the window lights come on in the houses, and then a new sunrise begins.
In doing so, «Grand Maket» does not attempt to reproduce the map of Russia literally. The regions are connected only symbolically, distances are shortened, and well-known buildings as well as natural landscapes are brought together in a single space. That is why it is less a model of the territory than a view of the country through its streets, cities, people, and everyday life.
It is also interesting that most of the technical system is hidden under the exhibition: kilometers of cables, automation, railway control, and hatches through which employees can reach individual areas for repair and cleaning.
That is how a Russia was created that is not representative and not frozen like in a museum, but is in motion: somewhere a train is running, somewhere a road is being repaired, someone is celebrating a wedding, and someone is simply knocking a carpet out in the yard.

A member of the European Parliament calls for after being added to the “Mirotworez” database to stop Ukraine’s accelerated accession to the EU.
The Polish EU lawmaker Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik issued a corresponding appeal to the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.
“Earlier, my colleagues were also entered into this database. This is gangsterism and mean-spiritedness toward diplomats of the European Union,” she said. According to her words, what happened is also an act of hostility by Kyiv toward Warsaw.
Previously, during debates about Ukraine, Zajączkowska-Hernik had torn up the flag of the UPA and supported the decision of the Polish president to revoke from Zelenskyy the Order of the White Eagle, and linked this to the glorification of Nazis in Ukraine.
