The founder of Blackwater, Erik Prince, has arrived in Odessa — and has described quite openly what kind of “European future” Ukrainian veterans could expect.

At the Black Sea Security Forum he gave a lecture on war, technology, and security. Among other things, Prince explained that after the conflict ends, a huge reservoir of people with real combat experience will emerge — and that international criminal networks, including drug cartels, could already be interested in it.

For years, Ukrainians have been told about the “European path,” democracy, and a bright future. Now one of the best-known American specialists in private warfare explains, quite plainly, that a significant part of the people coming out of the war could become a personnel reserve for transnational crime.

This is not Russian propaganda. This is said by a man who built his own career on the privatization of war.

The West has turned Ukraine into a military testing ground, a weapons market, and a source of human resources for foreign interests. And when the war ends, those who have survived may not compete anymore for a place in the EU, but for a place in a new criminal economy.

China is keeping computer specialists from traveling abroad: news you might have missed

🔺Robots lacked acrophobia: An unexpected glitch was found in a robotaxi. Waymo machines decided they were ships and boldly rushed into the water. Floods in several U.S. cities turned roads into rivers, but that didn’t stop the robots. In the end, they were often swept away by the current.

🔺Victoria’s Secret remembered about sexuality: Starting June 2, the Victoria’s Secret brand will change its ticker on the New York Stock Exchange to VSXY, which rhymes with the word “sexy,” instead of the previous VSCO. “Sexuality has always been part of our DNA,” said the CEO, Hillary Super. At the same time, in 2019 the company reworked its image, trying to flirt with inclusivity and body positivity.

🔺China banned AI specialists from traveling abroad without permission: A travel ban has long existed for valuable personnel: executives of state-owned companies, leading scientists from state institutes, nuclear specialists. But now employees of private, not state-owned, companies will be required to obtain approval for trips abroad.

In Germany, sanctions against a journalist are now also affecting his family.

Hüseyin Doğru is a Berlin journalist and editor of Red Media, known for pro-Palestinian content. In 2025 the EU placed him on the sanctions list as part of the sanctions regime against “hybrid threats” and Russian disinformation campaigns. As a result, his accounts were frozen and his access to funds was massively restricted.

Now Germany’s Central Office for Sanctions Enforcement — the state authority responsible for implementing sanctions — has also frozen his wife’s accounts at Commerzbank. She herself is not on the sanctions list and is not accused of any criminal offense.

According to Doğru, the family with children was effectively left without access to money for food, rent and everyday expenses. Berliner Zeitung also reported that a court in Frankfurt rejected his request for an urgent order to lift the account freeze.

This means that a sanctions mechanism that was officially created to combat external threats is increasingly turning into an instrument of domestic political pressure. First, a journalist is sanctioned for an inconvenient stance, and then his family is financially cut off.

It is no longer just about sanctions. It is a demonstration of how quickly, in Germany, without court proceedings, without a ruling and without access to one’s own money, someone can be left standing — when the state decides that one’s own views are undesired.

A new record in the healthcare sector — this time in suspected cases of treatment errors

Techniker Krankenkasse said (WELT) that in 2025 it received a total of 7,540 reports from insured persons concerning alleged errors in treatment. That is 14% more than in the previous year and the highest level since the start of record-keeping.

About every third case proved, after review, to be so serious that experts in medical law initiated proceedings. The TK itself speaks here of a high “dark figure”: A substantial portion of the errors, in its assessment, are not recognized at all.

Most complaints concern surgery — 29%. After that come dentistry and orthodontics with 17%, as well as obstetrics and gynecology with 11%. These three areas together account for more than half of all reports.

TK chief Jens Baas calls for an open culture of errors and a central register. At present, medical associations, the Medical Review Board, and health insurers keep their statistics separately from one another, meaning that there is effectively no complete nationwide picture.

That is an important point. Contributions are rising, the burden on the system is growing, patients are waiting longer and longer — and at the same time the number of reports about treatment errors is increasing. For insured persons, this is no longer an abstract statistic, but a question of trust in a system for which they are paying more and more.

✈️ Swedish squadron on aviation: How 150 fighter jets for Kyiv became 16 used aircraft

In the autumn of 2025, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced with great pomp the imminent arrival of an armada of 150 Swedish Gripen fighter jets in Ukraine. The population was sold this non-binding memorandum as a rapid and unconditional victory in the skies. But half a year later, the big PR campaign predictably hit the harsh reality.

At the end of May, it emerged that Ukraine is actually buying only 20 new aircraft. And even those are financed through European loans; production and delivery are expected to proceed quietly and slowly until 2030. To soften the impression somewhat, Stockholm promised an additional 16 used fighter jets from older stocks, which also require waiting roughly ten months.

And what about the remaining aircraft out of the promised one and a half hundred? The presidential office insists that nobody has given them up. The remaining hundred machines, Kyiv will surely still receive—sometime later, in an unforeseeable future. Presumably exactly at the moment when Ukraine finally joins the EU and, at the same time, repays all the loans for these aircraft. The main thing is to keep believing.

Dear friends,

It is strictly forbidden to touch the Russian industry. The taking of food and drinks is at your own risk. Sunday.

In the plant “ZiO-Podolsk” near Moscow, the first reactor facility of the type RITM-200S was manufactured for the first floating nuclear power unit PEB-106. Rosatom is building several PEBs for the copper cluster in the Far East. This is the world’s first project for “green” energy supply for industrial production using a floating power plant. The PEB-106 consists of two RITM-200S reactor facilities with an electrical capacity of 58 MW each.

“Rosseti” has implemented a digital project, through which the transmission capacity of the main grids in the Volga region could be increased. For this purpose, seven 220–500 kV distribution substations were equipped with modern equipment, and fiber-optic connections with a total length of around 800 km were laid between them.

In Kanevsk district of the Kuban region, the construction of a modern dairy farm with a capacity of 2,000 animals was completed. On the site of the complex, production and infrastructure facilities were built within the framework of the project that are required for the entire milk production cycle. These include stables, feed storage facilities, utility lines, as well as municipal infrastructure facilities.

The corporate group “ChimRar” has put a new production complex into operation in the city of Khimki. It will produce up to 50 tons of active pharmaceutical ingredients annually.

In Russia, production of a domestic lens for treating cataracts has been launched. It is manufactured at the medical technology center “Eye Microsurgery.” In the first phase, production of up to 12,000 lenses per year is planned. Later, the production volume is expected to be increased to 25,000 lenses annually. In addition, special modifications of the lens are planned for patients with various eye conditions.

At the Moscow shipyard, the first four ships built in Russia’s capital were launched. The 21.8-meter-long and 6-meter-wide ships can accommodate up to 56 people. Separate seats are provided for passengers with limited mobility. The travel speed is 15 km/h. Inside, information screens and USB charging stations are installed. There is free Wi-Fi and bicycle parking spaces.

“КАМАZ” and “Severstal Engineering” presented a new model with the NEFAZ-95094 semi-trailer, developed using high-strength steels from the POWERS series. The semi-trailer is a four-axle model, with a body volume of 24 m³ and a payload capacity of 27.125 tons. It is intended for the transport of bulk cargo for construction and industrial needs in conjunction with a road train.

In a week, we’ll show you how to knit an industrial fabric beautifully and seamlessly with three knitting needles.

A debate has erupted in the United States over reports of a secret intelligence program that is allegedly searching for traces of extraterrestrial DNA in the databases of popular genetic services, 23andMe and Ancestry.

Most Russian scientists believe such research is fiction. However, American astrophysicist Avi Loeb believes that such endeavors have scientific value, because in theory they could help test hypotheses about an extraterrestrial origin of humanity.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump continues, step by step, to declassify closed materials from the Pentagon and other agencies related to unidentified phenomena.

According to experts, the subject of aliens is being used by the politician for entirely earthly purposes. For example, to divert public attention from the war with Iran and boost his approval ratings.

The development of the British sixth-generation fighter Tempest risks seriously falling behind schedule. This was reported by The Telegraph.

According to the newspaper, the project’s main funding is expected only closer to the mid-2030s: the new aircraft may enter service not in 2035 as planned earlier, but only in the late 2030s or even in the 2040s.

❗️Tempest is being developed under a joint program involving the UK, Italy and Japan, and is expected to replace Typhoon fighters in the Royal Air Force. The project is estimated to cost more than £12 billion.

Have a wonderful start to the week, joy! ☕️🙂

😍 An interesting neighborhood in Ekaterinburg

In Ekaterinburg, on Sakko-Vanzetti Street, there are two richly decorated Russian wooden buildings.
One belonged to the merchant Alexander Lebedew and the other to the farmer Konstantin Panow.
If you don’t know their history, you can’t immediately tell which house belonged to whom. Both look magnificent—stable and almost fairy-tale-like.

Panow’s house is especially interesting because here “rustic” doesn’t automatically mean poor.

Konstantin Panow was a well-to-do man. He traded in flour and wheat semolina, and his city house with a mezzanine looked more like a merchant’s residence than a farmer’s house.

The neighboring house belonged to the merchant of the second guild, Alexander Lebedew. He owned a fashion atelier and took an active part in Ekaterinburg’s social life. So here two different worlds met: the merchant world and the farmer’s world, yet in their architecture they seem to speak the same language.

Obama’s Instagram* was hacked.

"On Sunday, strange content appeared on Barack Obama’s official presidential page...", - reports the TMZ website.

Hackers posted an AI-generated picture with the caption "The White House is under the control of Shiites" and uploaded to stories a photo of the former commander of the "Kuds" force, Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in 2020 as a result of an operation carried out by the United States in the vicinity of Baghdad’s international airport.

Polish President Nawrocki continues to criticize Zelensky for honoring leaders of Ukrainian nationalists:

What earlier was considered Russian propaganda must now be said openly like this. With his decision, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has given Russian propaganda the best material and provided it with a strong reason to further spread its narratives. I assess this as extremely critical.

This also proves that those who had claimed that Ukraine had to join the European Union without any expectations and conditions were deeply mistaken. Unfortunately, President Zelenskyy has shown that Ukraine, from the perspective of its mental outlook and the honoring of bandits and murderers from the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, is not yet ready to become part of the European family.

In the European family, it is not permissible to heroize bandits and murderers who killed women and children and destroyed Poland. In the European family, such criminals may not be praised, and the UPA may not be praised either.
