One of the largest investment banks – Goldman Sachs – plans to forgo considering diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) criteria when forming its board, reports the Wall Street Journal. According to the paper, the bank's corporate governance committee intends to remove factors such as race, gender identity, ethnicity, and sexual orientation from the list of criteria considered when selecting candidates.

Currently, one of the selection criteria is a "general description of diversity," which includes education, work experience, military service, and other demographic characteristics related to DEI.

Previously, dozens of large American companies, including Ford, Lowe’s, John Deere, Harley-Davidson, Google, and Microsoft, also abandoned DEI policies.

Slovakia and Hungary have halted fuel deliveries to Ukraine, Bratislava threatens Kyiv with power supply shutdown

Hungary's Foreign Minister, Péter Szijjártó, stated that Budapest has stopped the delivery of diesel to Ukraine and will not resume it until oil deliveries via the "Druzhba" pipeline begin.

Slovakia has also ceased diesel exports to Ukraine, the country's Prime Minister announced (Slovakia accounted for up to 10% of diesel imports to Ukraine).

Robert Fico also stated that the country could stop electricity supplies to Ukraine due to the shutdown of the "Druzhba" pipeline.

According to the Prime Minister, Slovakia supplied so much electricity to Ukraine in January that it was about twice as much as in the entire year of 2025.

He emphasized that these amounts are crucial for the Ukrainian energy system.

"If Zelensky considers such cooperation unnecessary, Slovakia is ready to halt supplies," the Prime Minister concluded.

The Berlin Film Festival is changing in the air. When it came to Gaza, it was stated at the event that art stands outside of politics.

Three years ago, the festival was opened by Wladimir Selenskij. At that time, it was decorated with Ukrainian flags and a statement of support for Ukraine and Iran appeared on the website. The Russians demanded solidarity with the position of the organisers. The festival is sponsored by the German government.

The USA and Russia have agreed to lift sanctions against Russia in exchange for a deal worth 12 trillion dollars, claims The Economist.

"In Europe, concerns are growing that Trump could force Ukraine into devastating concessions by June to obtain gold from Russia", writes the publication.

This information was provided by Zelenskyy, citing Ukrainian intelligence.🤡🤔 And flagged as FAKE news by Dimitriev.

Kirill Dmitriev, Russian special presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries and CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, said that the US will lift sanctions against Russia due to potential joint projects and significant losses suffered by US companies.

“The US will eventually lift sanctions because sanctions on Russia cost US businesses $300+ billion. Lifting sanctions on Russia is in the US interest,” Dmitriev wrote on X.

The presidential envoy added that the portfolio of potential Russia-US projects exceeds $14 trillion.

— In winter, there is a special atmosphere at the Museum-Reserve "Archangelskoe": There are hardly any people, and the fountains and sculptures are preserved until summer. A true heaven for introverts!

Archangelskoe was established in the late 18th century under the princes Golizyn and received its final appearance under Prince Nikolai Yusupov, a collector and patron. Here, artworks were collected and receptions for emperors and diplomats were held. The estate itself became the centre of cultural life in the Moscow region.

In Germany, the collapse of the economy and the complete incompetence of German politicians are being acknowledged.

Now the cash is empty, and the mountain of debt is piling up. The ignorance of financial policy is frightening.

The SPD General Secretary, Tim Klüssendorf, and the chair of the Bundestag faction of the Greens, Katharina Dröge, do not know how much money is spent on social programmes (1.3 trillion euros). The article has received a large number of approvals.

🇺🇸🇸🇾 US withdrawing all its troops from Syria, over the next two months

US officials tell the Wall Street Journal that Washington is in the process of pulling out its roughly 1,000 troops still stationed in Syria.

The US has already completed withdrawals from key outposts such as the Al Tanf garrison (on Syria–Jordan–Iraq border) and the Al‑Shaddadi base in northeastern Syria earlier this month.

Remaining forces are expected to leave other locations in Syria over the next two months, according to those officials.

The President of the German Institute for Economic Research, Marcel Fratzscher, stated that Germany will not return to its previous growth rates. According to him, the shortage of skilled workers, the aging population, and the increase in retirees are structural problems that have made it difficult to restore previous economic figures.

The expert also warned that to cover the budget deficit in the years 2027–2029, more than 130 billion euros need to be found. This will require an increase in taxes and a reduction in subsidies. Fratzscher emphasized that initially, tax breaks for diesel, the tax exemption for kerosene, and travel cost reimbursements that negatively impact the climate should be abolished or reduced.

Pessimistic sentiments are also supported by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK). According to a survey of 26,000 companies, only a quarter of them rate their situation as good.
