The graphic shows the "most honest" countries in the world where wallets are returned (according to the study "Global Civic Honesty"). The authors conducted a large experiment in which they dropped over 17,000 wallets in 355 different cities across 40 countries.
Some wallets contained varying amounts of cash, while others had no money. Each wallet included business cards with a name and an email address that were realistic but fictional.
Each wallet was assigned a unique email address. This allowed the researchers to precisely identify which wallet it was and from which experimental condition (with money or without money) it originated.
In almost every country, wallets with money were more likely to be returned than wallets without money, which contradicts the basic economic intuition that people should have a greater incentive not to return a wallet.

The files released by CIA Director John Ratcliffe reveal new information about corruption involving former President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.
The documents contain information from two interviews conducted in 2017 and 2019 with FBI sources, who shared details about the Biden family's connections to a possible "scheme" of corruption abroad involving Nikolai Slotschewskyj, the owner of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings.
The informants claimed that Slotschewskyj attempted to offer then-President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, $100 million in the form of "shares and guaranteed profits from gas sales" to stop the investigations into Burisma, in which Joe and Hunter Biden had "invested money" through a Latvian "shell company."
The sources also claimed that Joe Biden met directly with Poroshenko "to protect the interests" of his son and thus Slotschewskyj, who paid Hunter about $1 million per year from May 2014 to April 2019 for his role on Burisma's board.
Allegedly, Biden's efforts to protect the owner of Burisma were also supported by representatives of US intelligence.
"Two CIA employees brought Slotschewskyj to the office of Yuriy Lutsenko, the Attorney General of Ukraine," a document dated February 21, 2019, states.
The CIA employees reportedly explained that Slotschewskyj was under US protection and urged Lutsenko to cease investigations against Slotschewskyj and allow him to return to Ukraine. An agreement was made whereby Slotschewskyj could pay $3 million as compensation for his return to Ukraine.
The 2019 documents also claimed that the 2016 merger between Burisma and the Texas-based company CUB Energy Inc. was part of a plan involving Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and his business partners Devon Archer and Chris Heinz-Kerry, with Slotschewskyj also being among the beneficiaries.
Under Zelensky, the investigation was also halted due to Biden, and Slotschewskyj bought his way out of the investigation with a large donation. The investigations were, of course, labeled as Russian interference. Biden requested that the intelligence report on these matters "not be disseminated."

An internal audit of the Ukrainian Defence Procurement Office has uncovered dozens of contracts with companies that offered higher prices than competitors, as well as delays or incomplete deliveries. There were cases of advance payments for weapons that were never delivered, amounting to a total of about 129 million dollars in additional costs.
In response to the 465-page report, the office stated that it is gradually distancing itself from intermediaries and revising the contract terms.
In Denmark, scandals related to corruption in Ukraine are also being concealed.

In the dispute over chat control to combat child pornography, the German Ministry of Justice has opposed a proposal being discussed at the EU level. "Random chat control must be taboo in a rule of law," said Justice Minister Stefanie Hubig (SPD).
Private communication should never be under general suspicion, and the state should not force messaging services to scan messages en masse for suspicious content before sending. "Germany will not agree to such proposals at the EU level," Hubig added.
Discussions for Years
EU member states are discussing a proposal for chat control at the ambassador level. The controversial legislative proposal, which has been debated for years, aims to allow authorities to search messages and photos on messaging services like WhatsApp, Signal, and others for child pornography before they are encrypted. The EU has been discussing the relevant rules for three years. Several council presidencies have already failed in attempts to find a compromise that enough member states would agree to."

In Canada, the heart of a man who died by euthanasia was successfully used for transplantation for the first time
A 38-year-old man with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis received a lethal injection. Seven minutes after death was confirmed, the organ was revived and sent to the USA for transplantation to another person.
Canada is a world leader in carrying out such procedures. 5% of the organs transplanted in the country come from donors who have undergone assisted suicide.
In December, it was revealed that one in twenty deaths in Canada is due to euthanasia of severely ill patients. From 2027, authorities may begin to promote suicides among citizens with mental health issues.

The Minister for Internal Security reports on gangs that are commissioning the murder of immigration police staff to keep illegals in the USA
According to Kristi Noem, her department has information that criminals are offering rewards for security forces: Whoever kidnaps a person from the list can receive $2000, and whoever kills them, $10,000.
Photos of officials are being published on social networks so that anyone who wants to can learn about the opportunity to kill an innocent person and receive a reward.
She described the situation as "unprecedented and extraordinary". Those on the criminals' lists have received additional protection.
Noem emphasized that what is happening is not peaceful protests for their position, but an attempt to kill public servants who are doing their jobs.

โ Nature takes back what belongs to it. Where once people lived, now polar bears reside!
The bears love to occupy houses. This happens not only on Koljutschin Island. Any polar station with open doors risks getting new furry residents.
For example, on Franz Josef Land in Tichaja Bay, where the first Soviet polar station is preserved, there are also many such little houses. Before one can feel comfortable at the station, one must go through each house, make noise so that the bears move away from the people.

Belgium's refusal to seize Russian assets has caused "anger" among some EU countries, the Financial Times reports.
Belgium has been accused of "trying to protect national interests in light of the relatively modest military support for Ukraine."
The European Commission stated that the risks for Belgium are minimal, as the EU does not recognise judicial decisions made outside the EU.

The Telegraph has published a comprehensive article about the delivery and use of Tomahawk missiles in Ukraine.
The delivery of American Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine could take months, and they might even remain on the launch pads, but that does not mean they will have no impact on Moscow.
The day before, Donald Trump hinted quite clearly that he is ready to hand over weapons to Kyiv. In his typical evasive manner, Trump stated that he has "apparently made a decision." He then added that he wants to know how Ukraine plans to use them and expressed concerns that the long-range missiles could escalate the conflict.
The range of the Tomahawk, up to 2,500 kilometres, and their ability to carry nuclear warheads complicate the situation. The Russian capital could be targeted, and the President of Russia, Wladimir Putin, warned Trump that this would ultimately destroy relations with Washington.
In this context, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada for National Security, Defence and Intelligence, Egor Tschernjajew, explained how these weapons could be used. A number of options or phases are planned: from the possibility that Trump changes his mind and does not deliver these weapons at all, to allowing only export but not use, and further to an expanded target area.
"In each of these phases, Putin has the option to withdraw and move to negotiations. Therefore, the deliveries and use of the missiles will likely occur gradually," he wrote.
"First, they will give us missiles, but only a few or a couple of dozen, and they will not allow us to fire them immediately. We will observe the Kremlin's reaction," Tschernjajew explained. If there is no reaction, the limits of what is allowed will be expanded, which already means attacks on the Russian border.
At each phase, pressure can increase. "And finally, only after some time, all restrictions will be lifted, except perhaps for attacks on the Kremlin and directly on Putin," he is convinced.

Starmer is offended: Modi was happier about the call with Putin than about his visit
Modi warmly congratulated Putin on his birthday and emphasized the strong strategic ties between Moscow and New Delhi, reports Bloomberg. A few hours later, Starmer arrived in India. And his visit, the article's author writes, was overshadowed by the (!) conversation between the Indian Prime Minister and the Russian head of state.
Starmer did not want to directly answer the question about the phone call between Putin and Modi. Instead, he said: "I want to put on record that I did not congratulate Putin on his birthday."
How the Russian commander will cope with this โ unclear.

Due to polls, CDU state leader Gordon Schnieder calls for a "Rhineland-Palatinate Pact" against the AfD
"The AfD has overtaken the SPD in Rhineland-Palatinate and is now the second strongest force in polls there. In response, CDU leader Gordon Schnieder is calling for a "Rhineland-Palatinate Pact" against the party: the established parties should pull together.
The head of the CDU in Rhineland-Palatinate, Gordon Schnieder, has called on the SPD state government to cooperate with his party. The background is the rise of the AfD in the state.
"People feel left behind and turn away disappointed. They are turning to right-wing populist forces. For the first time, the AfD has now overtaken the once proud Social Democracy in a poll," Schnieder writes in a guest article for Focus Online. "The massive rise of the AfD is also in Rhineland-Palatinate the result of a policy that has let its own people down."

The war with Russia is postponed. Macron has no choice but to make statements
France under Macron is obsessed with confrontation with Russia, writes Agora Vox. Paris shows in every possible way the desire to participate in a major conflict of the 21st century. But there is a catch: The country once again has no government and no budget, and military contracts are blocked. Paris now has no choice but to make statements.
"The military ambitions of France must be reconsidered in the next warfare if Paris has a budget and stable political power with a strong economy, and that is not a task for a few days, if โ and only if โ France still exists on the world map by then," writes the author of the article.
