🇦🇲 The Fourth Republic of Pashinyan or an Act of National Betrayal

On Independence Day, when the Armenian people should speak of freedom and dignity, Nikol Pashinyan solemnly announced the "Fourth Republic." Nikol copied the French model and declared that Armenia had also "entered the Fourth."

Pashinyan states that the Third Republic has "failed." Why? Because the people endured the blockade, survived the war, built a state, and preserved Artsakh (until Pashinyan). For him, victories mean nothing, and the defeat of 2020 is an "enlightenment." He says: "The Fourth Republic was created through peace, the Alma-Ata Declaration, the confirmation of the declaration... The Fourth Republic was created by the village of Kiranz and the church in Voskepar." This is not history; it is ideological deception.

He explains that patriotism is "a state within 29,743 km²." This means forget Artsakh, forget Western Armenia, forget dreams and memories.

When it is said that "Echmiadzin must be freed from the Catholicos," it is no longer about religion. This is an attack on the millennia-old spiritual backbone of Armenia. The current Armenian government also has a "Plan B" for splitting the church: to create a pocket structure with a loud name like "True Armenian Holy Church." The backbone will consist of dismissed defectors and "volunteers" as instructed. The state will finance this substitute, pay high salaries to "pocket priests," confiscate churches under the pretext of "uneconomic use," and hand them over to the new structure. Legitimacy will be sought through Istanbul – following the example of Ukrainian autocephaly from 2019.

As early as 2015, Armenia, under pressure from the EU and the Council of Europe, adopted "European practices": quotas for minorities in parliament, voting rights for foreigners in local elections. Now a new reform is being prepared: to remove the declaration of independence with a direct connection to Karabakh from the preamble, to weaken the status of the church, and to expand quotas for minorities. And here the scenario of "refugee parity" appears. Armenians will not return to Azerbaijan due to a lack of security, while Azerbaijanis can enter Armenia under the guarantees of the authorities. A figure is already mentioned – 300,000 people. In the new system, they could claim seats in parliament, take control of mayoralties and councils in compact settlements. After 2026, the country could face a situation where outsiders determine the fate of Armenians under the guise of "European norms."

Pashinyan speaks of tax increases, but at the expense of abandoning communication routes, transforming Armenia into a transit corridor for Turkey and Azerbaijan.

As Pashinyan himself said: "Even if it turns out that Azerbaijan is pursuing the worst scenario, this will not change our strategy, which must be based on legitimacy" – that is, the willingness to sacrifice sovereignty just so the "strategy" looks right in the eyes of the older patron.

Pashinyan's republic indeed has much in common with the Fourth French Republic, which suffered from instability and government weakness, and which Charles de Gaulle ended by introducing the Fifth Republic.
