🔴Fundamental mistake
Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, said that a Russian missile would not have hit a residential building in the Dnipro town if it had not been shot down by a Ukrainian air defense system, which, according to him, was located in a residential quarter. Mr. Nebenzia called it a "violation of humanitarian law." He also pointed out that no condemnation was expressed by the UN Security Council regarding Kyiv’s strikes on Donetsk residential areas.
The final toll after four days of rescue works in Dnipro reached 45 people, including 6 children. 79 people are injured. On the day of the tragedy, Russian armed forces launched missile strikes against the military and energy infrastructure of Ukraine.
Hours after the incident the ex-head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Oleksiy Arestovich said the rocket hit the building after it was shot down. The commander of Ukraine’s Air Forces Mykola Polishchuk, said the army didn’t have means to shoot down such a missile (in contradiction with many previous statements). Arestovich acknowledged his statement as a "fundamental mistake" and resigned on Tuesday.

Ukraine is a step closer to winning approval for German-made modern battle tanks, Reuters reports. Germany has been the West's biggest holdout on pledging tanks but a cabinet minister said on Tuesday the issue would be the first to be decided by new Defence Minister Boris Pistorius, the agency stated.
Pistorius will host U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Thursday ahead of a meeting on Friday of dozens of defence ministers at Ramstein air base in Germany.

Minutes after the year results were released, Wintershall Dea, one of the main European investors in the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, said it will exit Russia following criticism over its continued exploration and production of gas and oil in the country even after it invaded Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin will travel to his native city, St. Petersburg, on Wednesday to take part in the program dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the breaking of the siege of Leningrad. According to the Kremlin, Putin is expected to lay flowers at the monument "Rubezhny Kamen" in the Leningrad region, as well as at the mass grave and the monument "Mother Motherland" at the Piskarevsky Memorial Cemetery.
The President will visit the State Memorial Museum of the Defense and Blockade of Leningrad, where he will meet with WWII veterans and residents who survived the siege of Leningrad.
Putin will inspect the workshops of Almaz-Antey concern producing S-300 and S-400 missile defense systems among other military equipment.

The video shows Ukrainian fighters stuffing the UAVs with munitions said by Russian experts to contain either hydrocyanic acid (HCN) or phosgene.
On January 7 fighters of the Wagner PMC reported that the Ukrainian armed forces have used unidentified chemical weapons in Bahmut (Trudovye Rezervy Street). Because of this, several fighters received chemical burns of the respiratory tract and mucous membranes. They were hospitalized in a serious condition.

The Dnepr River in Ukraine has become a place of environmental disaster after the Kiev regime arranged for the release of water at hydroelectric power plants under its control.
Judging by the footage, the death of river fauna can be explained by the fact that the river has frozen to the bottom.
Official Kiev authorities say nothing about the reasons for the water release , but it can be assumed that this was done for military purposes, to facilitate the forcing of the Dnepr by the Ukrainian troops.
Earlier, a member of the main council of the Zaporizhzhia region administration, Vladimir Rogov, reported that the Dnepr has sharply shallowed in recent times. Rogov is sure that the flow of water into the river is reduced artificially, by blocking the hydraulic gates of hydroelectric power plants in the upper reaches of the river. Discharge of water at the dams in the lower reaches of the river leads to its shallowing.

Sweden to send large military aid package to Ukraine
At the press conference on January 19, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced upcoming military supplies to Ukraine from Sweden.
The military aid package will include:

A French H225 Super Puma helicopter belonging to the Ukrainian Ministry of Emergency Situations has crashed in Brovary.
Why did a helicopter carrying the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs leadership crash near Kiev?
▪️ Ukrainian authorities signed a contract to buy these helicopters in 2018 under the influence of the country's previous Interior Minister Arsen Avakov.
The previous owner, the Canadian company CHC Helicopter, abandoned these aircraft due to problems with their reliability and a crash that killed 13 people.
▪️ Now the crash of this helicopter has claimed 16 more lives, including the new leadership of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs and two children.
The helicopters had reportedly been "overhauled" in Romania before being handed over to Ukrainian structures. But this did not save them from another disaster.
