Personally, I dislike factionalism, Pro this, Pro that, there's only a few things that should be constant to a man's character that is undisputed and must be wholeheartedly supported in full, not so and so, for example, you can be a Muslim or a Christian, and if you're a Muslim or a Christian you would wholeheartedly support the Palestinian cause, if you are a follower of the Talmud you will support Israel, etc..

Things like religion, political allegiance, the citizenship listed in your passport, etc, are not subject to leanings, but there are a few causes when leaning into a cause that is foreign to you is necessary.

I am an Egyptian, the sole question I have that comes from a practical point of view is how this war will affect my economy and my tourism industry, what will happen? Russians and Ukrainians together make up the largest number of tourists, etc..

But God gave us a mind and free will to have opinions on material and ideological affairs, and yes, I am not Russian, but I ideologically support the Russian side of the conflict from a question of morality and practicality.

Funny enough, when all of this went down in 2014, I was originally leaning into the Ukrainian side, the seizure of Crimea at first made me naturally make an analogy when Sinai was seized by Israel, and when the popular vote happened, I didn't think it was legitimate, because I also drew an analogy when the Israelis tried to get the locals to vote to secede from Egypt.

My viewpoint really only changed after the whole Donbass lit up, to me, a national army will never fight it's own citizens, it will only fight armed formations and only if attacked first, if a government orders it's armed forces to attack the citizens, then the government is illegitimate, what happened in Donbass really only clarified that to me.

Then, I talked to Crimeans, I talked to Russians and Ukrainians, work, travels, the internet, personal interactions, and I listened to all of their viewpoints, and so on.

I ideologically support the Russian federation in this conflict because as far as I'm concerned, the Russian federation, unlike Nancy Pelosi, did not go on record and say that even if the Kremlin burned down, their support to Israel will not perish, I believe in something called a national will, and even after 8 long years we still see people yearning for it in Ukraine, and over 70 in Palestine, and Afghanistan, then the mainstream media can't be really correct on this issue.

I also support the Russian federation from a practical point of view, afterall, 3 superpowers is better than 2, Russia is a great investor in Egypt in the economic and cultural sphere, so why would I want it gone? Ukraine barely contributed anything here.

Also I have personal experiences with some Ukrainians, some of them were Azovites, even at Sharm I met one sporting the tattoo, some even in a half-drunk state discussing eugenics and how only a few types of people were fit to live.

Of course, I also met some Russians like this, and most Ukrainians I met weren't like this, but the fact that this category was encouraged on the state level by the authorities in Kiev sealed the deal for me.

Therefore, anyone who wishes to change the status quo in the world that is beneficial to anyone that's outside of Europe and North America, a world of multipolarity, should support the Russian federation.

Since the times of Adam and Eve there were always 2 equally strong opposite sides, Romans and Persians, Americans and Soviets, you name it, a unipolar world order is unnatural, and we can see it's societal effects in the cultural sphere of many developed countries, so no, thank you.

⚡️⚡️Happy Monday! Our regular morning updates are back after a long New Year break.
Here are the latest developments on Russia and #UkraineCrisis as on January 9

🔴Questionable revenge
Reuters found “no signs of casualties” after Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk aimed at dormitories where Ukrainian servicemen were allegedly hosted. Moscow claimed the strike killed at least 600 Ukrainian soldiers, however the figure was questioned even by pro-Kremlin bloggers in Russia.

A Reuters team visited two college dormitories that Moscow said had been temporarily housing Ukrainian personnel and which it had targeted as revenge for a New Year's attack that killed at least 89 Russian soldiers.

🇧🇾Up in arms
The Belarusian Ministry of Defense announced Sunday that joint air drills between Russia and Belarus would begin on January 16th. ”During the tactical flight exercise, all airfields and training grounds of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus will be involved,“ the statement reads.

The announcement comes few days after State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich told BelTA that the deployment of the regional military force is “supposed to cool off hotheads in the West”. “Our neighbours are pursuing a policy, which is far from peace-loving. This is why the decision to deploy the regional military force was made. It has purely defensive goals. It is designed to protect primarily western borders of the Union State,” he added.

⚠️Bucha X?
Russian MOD accused Ukraine in blaming “a new large-scale anti-Russian provocation aimed at discrediting” the Russian army and accuse Russian servicemen of allegedly committing war crimes.

On the eve of the Orthodox Christmas, Ukraine law enforcement has dug out graves of civilians in cemeteries near Kazachya Lopan, Velikiy Burluk, Shypovatoye and Khatnoye (Kharkov region), the Interdepartmental Coordination Center of the Russian Federation for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine said in a statement on Sunday. The local citizens buried there died of natural causes during the deployment of Russian troops in these areas from February 24 to September 6, 2022, the statement said.

“After the exhumation, the bodies of Ukrainian citizens were further disfigured and dumped into specially prepared ‘pits’ on the outskirts of these settlements to create false ‘evidence’ of alleged ‘torture’ and ‘shootings’ of civilians by Russian servicemen,” it added.

🔫Help at any cost
Germany is frantically looking for the 40 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) Marder promised to Ukraine, Der Spiegel reported. According to the publication, Rheinmetall defence corporation has 60 decommissioned vehicles in warehouses, but their modernization would take too much time. Therefore, Berlin is thinking of supplying Kyiv with BMPs from the reserves of the German army.

Earlier France and Germany announced they have finally decided to send armored vehicles to Ukraine, a move Kyiv’s leadership had long asked for.

⭕️Dividing Christmas
Politico publishes a report from The Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, one of the first monasteries in Kyivan Rus and one of the key holy places for Orthodox Christians in Ukraine and Russia.

Till recently, the Dormition Cathedral, the main church of the Kyiv Pechersk Monastery, used to be the main headquarters of f the Russia-affiliated Ukrainian Orthodox Church, also known as the Moscow Patriarchate Church. But after Ukrainian government’s crackdown on Lavra and its priests (many of them are currently under investigation by the Security Service of Ukraine for alleged collaboration with Russian security forces), for the first time the Christmas service was conducted by the independent Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

Berlin is on the threshold of the biggest change.

The German War Party is finally taking a stand, which will undoubtedly lead to an aggravation in relations with Russia.

According to a poll, an overwhelming majority of Germans believe that Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht (SPD) should be fired.
MPs Martin Jozef Merz and Markus Söder also demand the replacement of the defense minister. A preparatory media campaign has been launched to remove Christine from office.

Logically, the chairman of the Defense Committee of the German Bundestag, Struck-Zimmermann, is also criticizing Lambrecht's procurement policies for the Bundeswehr.

Struck-Zimmermann is a controversial figure with close ties to the U.S. lobby, and she was originally predicted to be the defense minister.

As CSRC analysts wrote earlier, if a compromise is not found, Berlin will decide to act. Apparently the decision has been made to go for a new aggravation and Struck-Zimmermann will finally get the post she was promised. Preparations for this change have already begun!

Whether the curly-haired Lambrecht, the gunman Ears or the baron of the lying doctoral dissertation occupies a public office, it does not matter if these human failures only radically and consistently implement policies in the interests of their masters (Blackrock, Thyssen and Krupp, Mannesmann and Siemens, Stinnes and BASF (IG Farben) ...).

Opinion | Time is not on Ukraine’s side

Key parts:

▪️For Putin, defeat is not an option. If he cannot be militarily successful this year, he must retain control of positions in eastern and southern Ukraine that provide future jumping-off points for renewed offensives to take the rest of Ukraine’s Black Sea coast, control the entire Donbas region and then move west.

▪️Ukraine’s military capability and economy are now dependent almost entirely on lifelines from the West — primarily, the United States. Absent another major Ukrainian breakthrough and success against Russian forces, Western pressures on Ukraine to negotiate a cease-fire will grow as months of military stalemate pass.

▪️Putin believes time is on his side: that he can wear down the Ukrainians and that U.S. and European unity and support for Ukraine will eventually erode and fracture. To be sure, the Russian economy and people will suffer as the war continues, but Russians have endured far worse.

Macron promised to supply Ukraine with AMX-10R wheeled tanks

The AMR-10 RC tank was produced from 1976 to 1994. It was planned to be used as an armored reconnaissance vehicle. Instead of tracks, it moves on 6 wheels. The 300 horsepower engine allows it to reach highway speeds of up to 85 kilometers per hour.

The vehicle's armor is made of aluminum and protects the crew only from bullets and shrapnel. This explains the relatively low weight of the tank.

The AMR-10 RC is armed with a 105mm F-2 rifled gun and 7.62mm NF-1 machine gun. Armament of the vehicle is visibly poor.

Note that the use of the AMR-10 RS in Ukraine looks doubtful because of its poor cross-country capability. It is very likely that the wheeled vehicle gets bogged down in the mud off-road.

US may supply Ukraine with Bradley M2A2 infantry fighting vehicles

This was announced by President Joe Biden.

The Bradley infantry fighting vehicle was designed in the USA in the 1970s and based on the XM723 prototype.

In developing the combat vehicle, experience in combat use of the Soviet BMP-1 was taken into account, as well as features of the German Marder IFV.

In the US, the Bradley was adopted as a more protected and heavily armed alternative to the M113 armoured personnel carriers which are already in use by the AFU.

⚡️⚡️Key updates on Russia and #UkraineCrisis as on January 10

Soledar battle
Russian war bloggers report that the Russian army has made advances in Soledar and is “rushing to the city center,” having close range battles for administrative buildings as well as residential towers. Some reports suggest that Ukrainian units have started retreating.

Meanwhile, President of Ukraine in his latest nightly address said the situation in Donbass remains very tough, but “due to the resilience of our warriors there, in Soledar, we have gained additional time and additional power for Ukraine”.

Zelensky note he “continued diplomatic marathon” started last year with his U.S. visit and held discussions with leaders of Czech Republic, Slovenia, Portugal and Macedonia to continue support Kyiv. Russian propaganda interpreted Zelensky’s statements as "preparation of the general masses for the surrender of Soledar and the defeat at Bakhmut”.

🧨Pumping weapons
The U.S. is considering sending Stryker armored combat vehicles to Ukraine in an upcoming aid package to help Kyiv fend off an expected Russian spring offensive, Politico writes citing two people familiar with the discussion.

The news comes at the backdrop of last week’s announcement of sending Ukraine 50 Bradley Fighting Vehicles, armoured vehicle able to carry an autocannon, a machine gun and TOW missiles. Strykers would be another capability boost for Kyiv’s rapidly growing arsenal and would help meet a critical need for armor, as concerns grow that Russia is planning a second mobilization for a major new offensive in the coming weeks, the publication notes.

Russia's new offensive is likely to be in the Zaporozhye direction, - a representative of Ukraine’s intelligence Vadim Skibitsky suggested in an interview with Corriere della Sera. He noted that increase in the intensity of attacks is expected between spring and summer.

🩸Oil output
Kommersant found out that Russia increased oil production by 2% by the end of 2022, to almost 535 million tons. The fastest company to increase its output was Surgutneftegaz, which by the end of last year emerged as number three players in terms of production, overtaking Gazprom Neft. Of the four largest oil producers, only Rosneft reduced its output.

However, industry watchers expect a reduction in the output in January—February due to effects of the EU and the US oil price cap. Meanwhile, Bloomberg reported that Russia’s flagship oil is selling at less than half international prices — and way below a Group of Seven imposed cap — at $37.80 a barrel at the Baltic Sea port of Primorsk on Friday, according to data provided by Argus Media.

Further drop in the price could prompt Moscow to respond with production cuts, something it hasn’t ruled out in the past, the agency noted.

🇳🇱TV Rain’s new address
Russian opposition channel TV Rain (Dozhd TV) which was forces to stop operations in Russia last year obtained permission to broadcast in the Netherlands. Earlier, the channel broadcasted from Latvia but its licence got cancelled after an incident.

In a statement released by Media Commission of the Netherlands on December 22 it is noted that the application for licence was filed at the beginning of last month by a Dutch-registered entity. "The Commissariaat voor de Media [the Media Commission] has granted permission to TVR Studios B.V. to provide commercial television broadcasting services as a commercial media institution through a program channel called TV Rain," the statement reads. The license is valid for five years.
